Originally, there weren't any mods on the BBS. I don't think they were added until late 2003. Ironically, one of the biggest spammers in the pre-mod era was made one of the original mods (Shrapnel).

From what I hear it used to be just Wade moderating the forums since there weren't as many regulars.

There were no mods, the NG staff would take care of any problems that came about with idiot spammers. Things would get a little silly out of hours but it was dealt with when they were online again.

Ya, and considerin there were like, what? 20 people MAX on at a time? We didnt have to deal with noobs like today or spam, it was rare where we had to contact someone like Wade to deal with something.
mods only showed up in 2003, when the BBS became very popular and the spam was getting out of hand, there werent even rules before that.
around 2002 I would say, did the BBS start to reach problems where mods had to be introduced, and finally were early 2003.
