From wikipedia-

Trance is a style of electronic dance music that developed in the 1990s. Trance music is generally characterized by a tempo of between 130 and 140 bpm, featuring repeating melodic synthesizer phrases, and a musical form that builds up and down throughout a track, often crescendoing or featuring a breakdown. Sometimes vocals are also utilised. The style is arguably derived from a combination of largely techno and house. 'Trance' received its name from the repetitious morphing beats, and the throbbing melodies which would presumably put the listener into a trance-like state. As this music is almost always played in nightclubs at popular vacation spots and in inner cities, trance can be understood as a form of club music.

I don't know what your music is qualified as, because what I hear is a bass drum and a FL studio preset :| Keep trying though, everyone starts somewhere. :)

good luck,

If you're talking about chopping then yes, but I chopped what I made up into a beat ... I didn't just throw a preset and add a beat ... That wikipedia sort of describes it but not really, I don't know what to say...I guess i'll get bad reviews because its in Trance :(

Trance music is well known for its hypnotic sequenced synths (usually called strings because they imitate stringed instruments but do not attempt to create a realistic string sound). A mix of chromatic chords and bouncing sequences (bouncing sequences are ones where two or more octaves are present within one bar creating a bouncy feel as the synth skips from one octave to the next) mixed with either standard 4 on the floor beats or other beat patterns. Hihats are used as both off-beat tempo holders and percussive variety. A majority of trance depends heavily on chord movements and high resonance, fast moving sequences and pounding 4 on 4 bass drum.

Your song has a basic 4 on 4 (meaning 4 beats, each on the downbeat of the quarter note) but that's about it. Trance has many layers of bouncing sequences and flying and arpeggiated strings sometimes mixed with pads. Your song is more of a techno/house song, but is actually to under-developed to really fit into any category. Get more than two instruments playing in song and we may be able to help you find a genre for it.

Righto...I just started using FL a couple days ago...Still getting the feel for it and I don't know how to use all the advanced features and the tutorials that come with it aren't very explanatory or just complicate it more ... Maybe if someone might wanna partner up for a song so I could get some learning experience out of it?

That's more like House music, and could be classified as Techno too. Definetely not Trance though. Trances are normally smooth, maybe even considered euphoric. Yeah, you definetely submitted it to the wrong section.
