I sleep on my side with my legs out of the sheets and the fan on in summer.

I used to do that but I got creeped out and thought insects were crawling on my leg. (I have Entomophobia).

Use earplugs or one of those blindfold thingies.

I've tried the blindfolds. They made my head itchy and they came off during the night.

Lies make baby Jesus cry, bitch.

It's not bugs that do the trick. For me, it's little girls wearing blood-red jackets. Hiding in the corner of the room, lurking in the shadows, ready to creep up to me.

I've been playing FEAR as of late.

Haha, no wonder why you can't sleep...

And to that member that posted a huge story that I forgot to quote, you're definately in! :D

I've tried earplugs, they make me think too much, blindfolds don't help because my eyes stay open under them; I can't keep them closed, and when I have a fan on it's waaay too loud and I can't concentrate on falling asleep :/

That's why my AC is on all day, so that I can fall asleep at night with it off and not have my room 1,000 degrees.

I've never tried blindfolds, but I think I know some people who would apreciate it if I did.
Let me explain to you why.

For as long as I can remember, my brother has had the nasty habit of sleeping with his eyes open. This may not sound like much, but I used to share a room with my borhter when I was younger. I'm sure you can imagine what the mind of a 6-year-old starts to produce when he finds his younger brother sleeping with eyes wide open. Might I add that it looks pretty creepy, for all of you who've never seen such a thing?

I always thought my brother was an anomaly. How wrong I was. You see, recently, I went to camp with the youth movement, like I do every year. I had a lot of fun, as always, but one morning, when I woke up, I noticed my neighbour sitting on his bed, staring at me. He had his arms crossed over his knees, and looked pretty shocked. (he was sleeping in the corner of the tent. I had the second bed.) I asked him what was wrong. He said: "Thank god you're alive. I thought you were dead."

It would seem I had been sleeping with my eyes wide open. When he woke up, he thought I had died in my sleep. Poor lad.

I'm an insomniac.

It's not that I don't want to sleep, it's that I can't. Sometimes I go to bed after not sleeping for a day or two and I just can't fall asleep. I just lay there looking at the ceiling. Occasionally I'll get up and get a drink, work out to try to tire myself, or get on the Internet. It really sucks.

When I know I need sleep (test, work, etc.) I usually drug myself with some painkillers I have leftover from a car accident a while ago, but sometimes when I'm actually wanting to stay awake I will fall asleep in a chair or something at a friends house. So then when I get home (after almost falling asleep at the wheel) I got to bed and just lay there, not being able to fall asleep again.

It really makes me fear for my health, because I keep thinking of the day when I haven't slept in a while and I fall sleep driving my car, and drift off the road or into on-coming traffic. I wish I could get help but I haven't told anyone other than peers or gone to the doctor because I just don't think they'll believe me.

Adult Swim keeps me entertained though.

Ooh, that's harsh. If you want to join, your in.

Maybe it's just your bedroom, and the way you fall asleep. Maybe it's something else, but try to move things around a bit, it might help :D

Hey guys. I originally intended to go out and do things tonight, but that fell through, so i'll more likely than not be online most of the night through the late morning. (4 or 5 am Mountain time, which equals 6 or 7 am NG time)

One of the very few things that will put me to sleep is Marijuana. If you don't smoke, then i'm not saying you should, but for those of you that do smoke up you know how the after-crash can sometimes make you drowsy. It always puts me to sleep. The only problem is that I still live with my family ( unfortunately, i'm only 16...) so I have few opportunities to smoke safely. So because of this i'll often just go out right before bed for a "late night Taco Bell run", grab some food real fast, smoke a bit, then come home, eat, and finally go to bed. The downside is that i'll be kind of groggy the day after a bake-n-bed.

That first was not such a long post for me, I have a habit of making HUGE posts in my other clubs, mainly the NGMAC.

I used to get that feeling of bugs on my legs, since i have grotesquely hairy legs, but after a while I got used to it, even started to enjoy it, and now I can hardly sleep any other way.

Dave:

I know where you're coming from with the fear for your safety, as every now and then I won't sleep for 2 or 3 days regardless of what drugs or whatever I have or have not been doing. I don't drive because I don't need to and it is pointless for me right now, but I ride my bike everywhere, and i have fucked myself up pretty badly riding it overtired before.

I often work on little or no sleep, but luckily Taco Bell isn't exactly rocket science so I usually manage. i'm also lucky that my manager is cool with my lack of sleep, as he is also a pretty bad insomniac and he comes to work pretty fucked over sometimes.

School is a labor at times, since NOBODY wants to get up at 6:30 am after 2 hours of fruitless sleep. Ay energy Ihave in the mornings is killed by my bike ride to school, and I will be dead until mid-day.

Fuck sleep!!! :P

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! You got me good.

Well I say any chance to sleep is to be taken advantage of. And drugs are perfectly safe if taken with descretion, and just so long as you don't do any hard drugs. All of that bullshit that the media and tv commercials feed you about the "dangers of pot" and all that stuff is total bullshit. Pot isn't dangerous unless you smoke twice a day every day, and the effects they advertise to you on television only come if it wasn't pot you were smoking, but something much harder. I keep my smoking to no more than once a week, (except the next 3 weeks until school when i'll be smoking without regard to get rid of all of my shit by school) and no lasting effects have affected me. Light drugs such as pot and shrooms are about as dangerous as a kitten. and I will never touch any hard drugs, don't think i'm a total idiot, lol.

But hell, if I feel like I MIGHT be able to sleep tonight i'll try, but I doubt it. And if I try and fail, well, i'll just hop back onto the internet and call it good.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! You got me good.

9 comforters, eh lager? that sounds nice. I hated winter in DC. My room had a huge window with non-insulative glass. Chilled my room down by about 15 degrees compared to the rest of the apartment in the winter. Fetal position FTW.

And I'm really glad to see i'm not the only one who wakes up at 2pm sometimes. It's summer really. I loose any sleep patterns i've ever had during summer.

So who here sleeps nude :D?
If it's the summer I think there's no better choice. pajamas or boxers make me itchy.

And what do most of you do besides be on NG at the wee hours of the morning?
I downloaded a few snes roms and am downloading the company of heroes Multiplayer beta from fileplanet. If you guys have some good PCs maybe we can hook up in a multiplayer game some time. The multiplayer demo of Battlefield 1942: Secret weapons of WWII is great too and doesn't require a high end pc.

Oh yeah, and I find ways to make my sleep deeper and more effective since I get so little of it. If it is cold in your room, like 50 degrees or maybe even less (I just crack the window in the winter and turn all of the ventilation off) you'll sleep about twice as well. Your body basically conserves all of its energy and produces as much as possible since it thinks it's freezing to death, which = a much deeper sleep.

And I'm really glad to see i'm not the only one who wakes up at 2pm sometimes. It's summer really. I loose any sleep patterns i've ever had during summer.

Summer sleep patterns for me revolve around work usually, since i work 5 days a week, but when i'm not working i've been known to sleep 15-17 hours on end.

So who here sleeps nude :D?

I sleep in boxers simply because i don't trust the lock on my door one bit and i'm a very private person. My mother also has a habit of putting all of my laundry in my room at the earliest hour imaginable, so I don't think it'd go over well if she walked in on me splayed naked on the bed.

And what do most of you do besides be on NG at the wee hours of the morning?

I, unfortunately, run dialup almost all the time (except for every other weekend when I go to my dad's house, and he has a t1 line) so I don't do much aside from talk to people over msn and lurk aimlessly on Newgrounds. I used to play runescape about 3 years ago to around one year ago, but then it got boring so I stopped. I also surf a LOT of porn. I don't even use it for its intended purpose, I just find it fascinating to look at. I do drugs too sometimes, (once a week or so during summer, once every 2-4 weeks during school) that makes my nights pretty fun, especially at other peoples' houses.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! You got me good.

Before I had an AC in my room, I only slept in my boxer-breifs (boxer-breifs ftw!) but now that I have an AC in there, I just fall asleep in my clothes :) I never fall asleep in anything else, because anything else makes me uncomfortable 0.0

And what do I do besides NG early in the morning? I play Runescape. Why? Because it's fun as hell to yell around screaming that your dick is larger than life and watching all hte little 10 year olds run away. Because I never sleep, I'm at a very high level, I sold my previous account for $160 >:)
Loser games FTW!

Anyways, I also just sit and animate and work on my site redesign as of late :D

I used to draw frequently, and I am quite good at it, I just find little inspiration anymore. I would stay up for 15 hours doing one drawing. RS used to be entertaining since mindless leveling gives you some semblance of a sense of purpose, but it still sucks once you've done most of the things that there are to do in the worlds largest childrens' game.

when I sleep at my dad's or someone else's house I fall asleep in my clothes no problem, but if I do that at home I am totally dead in the morning.

I keep my door wide open at my dad's house cuz it can get hot and that cools the room better. I just make sure I fall asleep with a sheet covering my crotch. I don't toss when I sleep.

And if a friend is sleeping over, i will resort to boxers for his sake.
