i live in marshall county, kentucky. it was ranked the 13th most racist place in the world a few years back... but i'm not sure what the rankings are now.

actually, our last public lynching took place here in 1954.

i hate saying i live here. people will give the most horrible looks for even mentioning it.

i think racism is foolish and ignorant, personally. i could care less about the color of another's skin... i can't wait to move away from here.

I live in Australia, Perth. Racism is fairly bad here, it wasn't to long ago that Aborigines in Australia (i'm white) where not allowed to vote, they didn't have the right.
i think its sad that we have racism, people who are racist
are totally ignorant about other cultures and should grow up, all they do is assume the worst about other cultures.

You see, unfortunately minorities make up a large percentage of the lower to middle class. If the upper class and different levels of the lower classes are busy fighting amongst themselves over things like race then they are not thinking about fighting the class system.

I think you are very close to the truth here. In addition by keeping us divided the government keeps our attention off them and keeps us from achieving any true political reform.

Which all goes back to education for the individual. People look at other people to see what they themselfs need in life... they need to focus on being realistic and they need to learn how to learn things on thier own. As far as I am concerned the average human is just killing time... unless you work for nasa or in a scientific profession.

Well I for one think racism is great. I think it's great for two basic reasons:
1. Racism is stupid, therefore it makes me happy to laugh at stupid people.
2. Everyone is racist to a certain extent. . . yes EVERYONE, this simple fact that you feel differently about someone who doesn't share your skin color or national origin should allow you to laugh at yourself. That's right, acknowledge that you are stupid every once in a while and enjoy your own humility.
Anyone who doesn't agree with these things, try this simple test. Go to a mirror and look at yourself, then ask yourself "would I think more/less of myself if I were yellow/black/white/red/brown? If the answer is "no, of course not!" add green or purple with yellow polka dots to the list of colors and think about it again. Then laugh at the image you've conjured, because if there were a purple, yellow polka dotted people walking around all the time, nobody would be allowed to make fun of Barney.
In short, there are too many legitimate reasons to make fun of people without racism. Racist people are just unimaginative.
