Do you use scenes? That's the thing that bugs me about having lots of layers, if you go back and mess with it earlier on, then you may screw it up later by adding/deleting frames.

Here's a little scenario too. If at the end of the shot the character was to turn his head to the right but it still needed to have the tweened movement at the same time, how would you go about doing this?

Would you animate it within the graphic or do it on the layer?

I don't suggest using scenes, unless it's for a loader or something, scenes usually don't leave nice transitions and it can get sloppy, just like layers. Really it's just how you like it yourself, someone elses habbits might not fit you, you should just expiriment until you see what you like. It dosent really matter how you make your animations, as long as they're ok in the swf that you'll be showing to people.

I probably didn't answer your question, eh

Don't worry it wasn't a question where I needed to know the answer, it was like 'get another persons perspective' on it kinda thing. Thanks still, I o about it the same way as you.

Ok... we need to get some kind of system developed here for classification and organization of this stuff...

lets see here... some base catagories would be...

1. Character Development
2.Character Movement
3. Animation
4. Backgrounds
5. Special Effects
6. Dialogue
7.Basics(noobs start here)
8. Flash Tools and how to use them.
9. Animation for Games
10. General Insite
11. Misc

Did I miss any major catagories? Lets say someone does a how to draw anime tutorial it would go under character development... If someone makes a game and wants to pick it apart for others it would go under 9 or 10.

Lets get some kind of structure so things can be utilized more. You can move the list to the top of the page when we get a new page right luis?

Instead of just having a bunch of stuff here, why don't you constuct this thread like AS:MAIN where after 29 posts (new page) there is a new list. All the other posts are tutorial links.

To me it just seems unorganized.

Another really helpful tutorial. A movie that I am working on has no voice acting and I was kinda having trouble with the character's personality. Great timing.

Use a size 1 line, using pencil or line tool. He does it kinda disney style with different color lines for different color fills, you can try that, it looks good sometimes.

perhaps I should have reworded that post. I know what I need to do to act and record (but im not about to make a tutorial any time soon) however nobody, or 90% of newgrounds cannot act or record anything of any decent quality.

:so yea investing in good equipment yields good results.

I have a wacom tablet. Personally I think people overrate them. Don't get me wrong, the pen does come in handy but the only time i use it is when i am sketching out a scene or just drawing a picture. When i animate I prefer to use the mouse over the pen. The tablet is handy but I don't like to rely on it.
