I'm going to have to structure these and make a lesson plan or something.
How philosophic! ^^

Why the FUCK was there no deeply philisophical 'revealing-of-something' film theme behind that... Would of been perfect :P.

That reminded me of the Behemoth chicken :D. You should of included (not sure what the name is) but picking out the key parts of the jump, for example launching then the hangtime then landing, and then filling in the betweens.

I thought this might helpful to animators trying to visualize movement on what is one of the most difficult loops to do correctly, the walk. I sometimes use it for really difficult angles like a 3/4 isometric view of a walk

Topic needs someone to start updating the list at the start of each page. I'm not going to compile the list myself (don't have time), but if someone wants to upload a txt version to http://denvish.net/ul or post the list themselves and email me, I can delete irrelevant posts.
One of you guys need someone to take command and responsibility for running this thread. There are a reasonable amount of good tuts here now, get 'em listed to save any anim newbs from having to trawl through each page to find the one that suits what s/he needs.

This was a cool little tutorial type of thing on manipulating found photos in photoshop and customizing them for your needs.. I use this technique occasionally.
Its a pretty cool little tutorial. Not animation related i suppose but it could be if thats how you build your backgrounds.

Could some make a turorial about using layers?
Like how to animate multiple characters when each character has every limb on a seperate layer (one for ams, one for legs, etc.)

This is just a basic thing on layers i just felt like putting together.. i personally dont use layers to do walking loops its just all on one layer and theres usually no tweening involved

Do you use scenes? That's the thing that bugs me about having lots of layers, if you go back and mess with it earlier on, then you may screw it up later by adding/deleting frames.
Here's a little scenario too. If at the end of the shot the character was to turn his head to the right but it still needed to have the tweened movement at the same time, how would you go about doing this?
Would you animate it within the graphic or do it on the layer?

I don't suggest using scenes, unless it's for a loader or something, scenes usually don't leave nice transitions and it can get sloppy, just like layers. Really it's just how you like it yourself, someone elses habbits might not fit you, you should just expiriment until you see what you like. It dosent really matter how you make your animations, as long as they're ok in the swf that you'll be showing to people.
I probably didn't answer your question, eh

Don't worry it wasn't a question where I needed to know the answer, it was like 'get another persons perspective' on it kinda thing. Thanks still, I o about it the same way as you.
