Heres my contribution to the thread, I almost never like to show my process because im lame but heres the art of the storyboard:
Storyboard general rules:
1- dont worry about neatness, if you can understand it nothing else matters. Use whatever color/ stroke size / tool you find fast and easy
2- speed is key. Atleast for me.. my creative jizz lasts about as long as an average orgasm so if i dont get shit on my workspace quick ill forget the idea.. so work fast and cover as much ground as you can... make notes for things so you can later read and refresh your memory with.
3- this is optional but i like to colorcode things so that i have an easier time rendering them when im doing the final. When i can easily tell what is background art and what will be moving i can tackle the layers much easier.
In the sample below you can see how important the storyboard is in the movie it really influences the camera and mood. Of course you almost never will follow the storyboard 100 percent and thats ok, its just there as a general gameplan, not a bible.
Ok on to the visual samples.
