I get less than 10 a day (if any.. some times I don't even bother voting) I got my 14,000th point on February 25 (which I found thanks to some logs) and yesterday I did the math and it came out to about 11-12 points a day.

because i'm a pretty picky person i tend to vote low on even those most deem good, so i'm not likely to get more than 30 a day. i just have i high standard of quality but when i DO see it i get some protect points

I got my 14,000th blam/save point (Elite Guard Major) after that I just kinda stopped caring. Like for 5 or 6 days later I kept trying, maybe getting 20-30 points a day, but then I stopped, getting 0-10 a day.

it will take a long time befor i get my 14.000 point so me be i'll stop then too who knows :)

it'll be faster as you go along though. just being a security gaurd has slightly nudged things my way thus far. that and the experience of course

umm... no... your theory would work if it was the same amount of points to EVERY rank.. for you its like 100 points, so it might be easier, but when you start needing 1500 points to the next rank, there is no way it will go any faster.

If you're saying that the extra voting power provided by the experience points you're getting every day along with new blam/protect rank %age ups is gonna make it easier and easier to get blams and protects as you climb the rank ladder... well, maybe, but it's pretty infinitesimal. My voting power, even with rank 12, is not nearly high enough, despite having gotten 10 points a day of experience since this year began, to really sway movies all that much, especially once they get to the 100 vote mark. I can maybe move one 0.04 points by then, so unless it's a close vote, I can't really decide. I just have to be good at predicting blammage or protection.

i know what you're saying, but you'd be surprized how many movies get through with scores like 1.61 or 1.62. mostly that happens when someone submits a movie 100,000 times until it gets through and barely so. not always though

You're absolutely right, but you'll get the same 1 protect point with that 1.61 or 1.62 movie whether you're a Safety Patrol or an Elite Guard General. You may not have the power to push and pull, but your chances are about the same for a blam or protect. It's much more about your evaluation skills than your voting power.

i don't bother to evaluate if it's likely to get blammed or not. i just vote whatever i think the movie deserves. it's true that you can get more points if you evaluate it correctly and vote as such, so i understand why people do it. but it doesn feel right, i just like to be myself and vote as such

If a movie really appeals to me, but I know it's cause I'm a dork and no one else (most likely) that is viewing it is going to think it's any good, then it's a tough situation, but I'll often attempt to protect it, and sometimes I was wrong, it IS appreciated by others... but if it's not and I miss the protect, it's no big thing, yeah.

But when it's just one of many portal entries and I really can't care one way or the other, I do vote on merit, yes, but I have to think of how the majority of voters is going to take it. i.e. if it's a really badly made but funny movie about gay guys dancing around and having sex, I might be inclined to give it a 2, but I know that most viewers are going to see it and have their homophobic sensors going off and probably blam it to hell. And since I'm always in need of blams (600+ more protects than blams right now), who am I to give it a 2 instead of a 1? Eh.

yeah and i by all means understand that. i just don't worry about the points until i get them. the exception is if it's a movie i liked that happened to get blammed but was resubmitted. people shouldn't do that, so like it as i may i'll vote 0 the second time it's submitted
