You bring up some good points, but I still think it's a little extreme to compare those who eat meat to Nazis.

Hm...I agree. I guess I'll stop calling them "Spinach Nazis" then. *sigh*

I would like to point out, Freakapotimus-
I never attacked the lactose intolerant, or those who prefer the taste.
If you disagree with that, go back and re-read.
I also don't care if people want to be vegan or not, but if they choose the path of the carrot, then I do not hesitate to show my disdain for their logic, and I go so far until I start to insult. I try not to insult. Really.
And I honestly believe animals should be treated with respect. But eating a diet that is totally non-dairy, non-meat is silly. And I honestly believe that. We're not natural herbivores. Meat does a body good.

I agree with TheShrike. Most people aren't openly and aggressively anti-vegitarian. It's when they shove it in YOUR face that you have to stand up for your own beliefs.

YES.. my little minions... eat it up... all the meat in the world. After all, it's very good for you, and an excellent source of protein. *bites into a huge buffalo steak*
btw.. did I spell "protein" correctly?

I didn't disagree, I was adding another point. Some people may not realize that vegans aren't the only ones who drink soy milk.
Quote of the day: @Nysssa "What is the word I want to use here?" @freakapotimus "Taint".

Well, you're insane, but I think I'll dine on some meat after this approval. Mwaha.

people make too many excuses NOT to be compassionate... Also I see a lot of defeated people saying things along the lines of "people have done it forever... why stop now?" That is not the way that people use their "ability to learn" We are given a choice and I know damn well that most meat eaters would not kill the animal themselfs to eat it. It's kinda just like another unsatisfactory candy coated disgrace of humanity.

I would. In a heartbeat, just to prove my point. I've already said that i think animals should be treated fairly, but I would slice a cow's neck, for it to be my meal. Not for the fun of it, no- that's sick. I would break a chicken's neck, if only for the leg. I would drag a fish out of it's wet home, if only to sauté it. wait.. I've done that... I would .. ok, you get the point.
I think you forget that the people you say would not do this and would not do that... actually would. The slaughter and preparation of animals for food is disgusting. It's messy. And sometimes it doesn't smell too nice, either. But I'd volunteer freely if it meant my next meal.
O how I wish that one day we'd discover that plants think, too. that they're just much slower to thoughts than you or I. That they reason, and only see the seasons as day and night. Where would the vegetarian argument be then?
<sigh>

Hey... I kill my own meat! Our freezer is stocked mostly with the meat my father, brother, and I go out and shoot ourselves... and it's a hell of a lot better than anything you could ever buy at the grocery store!

I do the Ted Nugent thing, too! Kill it and Grill it all the way! Nothing like Venison instead of a McDonalds burger. I don't even think McDonalds is REAL meat. Heh, I know it is. Just...eew. The lowest quality ever. Unlike killing your own, where you KNOW what you're getting. I think my colleagues will agree.

At camp, i ate these soy burgers which looked like and tasted better than Mcdonald's burgers.
Frankly, i prefer soy milk to regular milk since regular milk stinks up my breath like hell.
I think that we should have a fair system of eating meat, like if you can't kill it, you can't eat it. then those fat idiots suing Mcdonalds will have no choice

Everyone hits their gems once in awhile. Yours just happened to be the first try. Hell, as long as it's relevant and I can agree, I'll do my best to back the point up.

Hey, did you all hear about the stupic PETA representative from Chicago whowas condoning a "fine young gentlemen" (those were her exact words) for burning down a slaughter house? Then she went on with her lies about how most cows don't even have a blade of grass and are stuffed into tiny pins with mud up to their ankles.
Erm... has she ever left the city of Chicago and actually visited a beef farm??? Hey, I live in fucking Southwestern Virginia, where we have acres upon acres of open fields, filled with grazing cattle, all of whom have more than a sinlge blade of grass and, well, no mud at all (unless you count after it rains, and even in that case... well, you get what I'm saying.)
PETA needs to wake up, and actually look into what they're trying to campainge against! GOD! I hate hipocrites!! >.<
(Sorry, guys, but I just heard about this the other day the figured I should share it with you!)

Oh come now.. I'm sure that at least a few of you have seen that on the news, eh? Hell, I barely watch the news at all... so I know that some of you had to have witnessed this on TV, or maybe in the newspaper? *shrugs* Oh well... But I can safely say that we all agree (well, majority rules, anyway) the PETA is a bunch of hipocritic assholes who need to have their heads blasted with an semi-automatic of high power! ^_^ I'm such a morbid lil gal, ain't I? ... maybe not...

I never heard of that incident.
But it wouldn't surprise me. PETA has always been a bit radical. I think if they catch the guy who burned the slaughterhouse down, he should be charged with terrorist acts. Violence and destruction doesn't really prove your point, no matter who you are. It may kill those who disagree, but it won't prove anything.
I wonder if the slaughterhouse had arson/fire insurance?

It seems to me kittie really wants to keep this topic going soo umm...
PETA is one of the stu[idest groups ever made, it's doubtfull anybody in the group has ever seen a real farm except for the one in thier head where the cows are tortured for no apperent reason whatsoever. PETA is just an orginazation for rich people who have nothing better to do.
For future reference, you might want to be carefull kittie I've seen people get banned for reviving old topics, but freak usually doesnt come in on saturdays and sundays because she cleans her house I think so you should be okay, and she tends to be more lenient on the politics forum.
