Hi everyone. I am new to photoshop but I understand the basics and here is a quick sig I made, just a random size really. Not great tbh, but it's probably the best I've done.

Always keep text on the top layer, unless you want it one layer underneath your border. Also, try not to put the text on top of something that it blends in too badly with (like your sig). That is, if you're not actually trying to make the image look like that.
