Come back when you've grown up and have the brains to realsie that America is a different country and that because of that, they don't have to have the exact same words.
You know, kind of like German and English. Most of the English language derives from Germanic. So yeah, if you hate Americans for "Butchering" English, then you MUST hate the English for butchering German!
Or are you a hypocrite as well as an idiot?
While I thank you for supporting shutting this idiot up, I have to ask; 'Yanks'?
Just wondering, I can never tell if that's meant to be offensive or not.

Amen to that brother.
I think that in school, we learned English not American English, and we were thought to recognise between the two.

No it isn't meant to be offensive. Its just slang for American. Kind of like how the Australians refer to the British as Poms. No offense is meant by it. At least not by me at any rate.

really? thats interesting...im pretty sure its a combination of philos & sophis meaning lover of wisdom, coined by socrates i believe
how could it mean anything different? it has already been defined, to redefine it another way defeats the purpose of creating a unique symbol in the first place

Actually its supposed to be phonetic english= England's and United States' english. But since every nation has its own slang and linguistic mannerisms, we see little differences which apparently leaves a rash aon the topic makers ass.

Rofl. If america wasn't here the atmosphere wouldn't be so bad and this forum wouldn't exist. That's 2 good things if it didn't exist. Also if I rememer correctly YOU were the ones that messed things up.

English is English.
The reason we have different words is because languages change overtime when people settle to different countries and are unexposed to their origin. Say, when the British came over to North America and were only in communication with England through letter. Besides, it doesn't matter which was first or which you feel is somehow more useful because of your common exposure to these word, it just matters that the words mean things, and that's what words were invented for in the first place.
I swear, you British.
Newgrounds is probably the most gayest thing I ever heard of.

Oh yes, I was waiting for someone to go on about the war. Firstly, saying you saved our asses in the war is overly simplistic and doesn't give enough credit to the Russians. Secondly, even if America did save us, none of you people had anything to do with it. It was the work of previous generations. You people who claim you saved us in the war are just a load of cowards who sit behind a computer screen and cynically take credit for the work of brave soldiers. You people are a disgrace to those who fought and died.

i really hope 'zet' was a typo, noone could be that stupid, i never noticed it was a british thing, some people just seem to prefer 'zee' or 'zed'
ive pondered this also, its always seemed odd to me that the definition for a letter would require more letters to write it down phonetically, ie greater than a syllable
eg 'w' double-you

and sadly it has corrupted most over once decent countrys of the world...
a perfect earth would be a world without america, then the muslim terrorists wouldnt of gotten so pissed, and started bombing everyone, there wouldnt be so much hatred in the world,
and the world would be much cleaner,
that.... and the English language, would still be ENGLISH!!!!!

for fucks sake. Different regions of England probably differ in words than america has from standard english. This is so stupid.
If you went to america, you could understand what they are saying better than if you went to some places in scotland, newcastle, liverpool, birmingham, london......... They all have diferent words for things, which aren't in the Oxford english Dictionary. alot more so than america.
If your talking about every the english language like what the queen speaks or is in the dictionary then the english talk alot worse 'english' than americans

lift>elevatorElevator is more educated. (When you enter a lift, you are elevated, hence elevator.)
i guess youve never heard of the verb 'to lift', i.e. lifted
