This is the most offensive (copyright infringement-wise) piece I know of on Newgrounds 'cause it's so popular and didn't even reference Keith Mansfield's song "Morning Broadway" in the comments. He did say in response to a review, "The background of the song I sampled off a Keith Mansfield vinyl. I layered some drums on top of it, cleaned it up and made a little loop out of it all."

If you read all the comments on his New Post, you'll find ALL of the details. But really, there are much, much more offensive copyright infringements on the AP. Some artists have literally just taken popular songs and uploaded them to the portal. Others have simply taken a sample of a copyrighted song and looped it over a beat with no work of their own put into it. Most of NG's Hip Hop artists will do a lot of editing on a sample and make it sound a LOT different. I also do sample-based Hip Hop. My samples come from NG, however, to prevent controversy like this.

NG isn't condemning the use of samples, just the use of copyrighted audio, or "Duplo music." Duplo music is the term we use here to refer to music that is just the default loops that come with audio production software. Some say that because they paid for the software and the loops are royalty free they should be allowed to use them. But the NG community doesn't want to have to sort through piles of Duplo music just to find the truly talented musicians. This is why NG only allows original work.

You probably didn't expect or need this little essay, but sometimes I get a little keyboard-happy. Hope some of it answered your questions.

That's EXACTLY what he did, save the piece isn't popular. He shifted the pitch up slightly, played his drums over the original drums, shifted the equalizer around a bit, and initially claimed it as his own work (which in my opinion is the worst of offense of them all).

He didn't steal, it's just the same chord progression, and even if it was a Re mix as you seem to think, that would require that he used parts from the original. If anything this is more of a cover if he was trying to have it sound like it. Sorry dude, but steph is right
