I am pretty old school when it comes to technologies. I own a DVD player but i also still use my VCR. I use CD-Rs for really big amounts of data. But after all I still uses floopy disks =D. What I have to say is great about them is they hold 1.44 MB and you can delete whatever is on them. They are best for documents and images, but my friends dont use floopy disks in fact practically everyone i know just use blank cds and rewriteable blank cds. DOES ANYONE KNOW THEIR ROOTS! Then again I am a freaky nerd I am sure there are people out there who still use them! I also use my broken floopys as ninja stars lol. What do you use floopys for?

ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!! 8========D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NIGG@H!!!!!!! MOAR RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either get a USB thumb drive or buy a card reader and use Secure Digital cards, both hold way more than floppys. Plus both are near impossible to break. CD-R's are terrible for efficiently backing up data, tell your friends to use CD-RWs.

YES. Man, I'm always using floppy disks, mainly for my writing. I keep a lot of floppies around, and most of them are loaded with things I've written and/or writing. Bad for images though.

I use them all the time, with my 1997 Mac computer.

I like to play "The Oregon Trail".

At least you got a Hard dick drive, better than a hung drive anyday. JK
P.S. is floppy disc is spelled 'disc' and to the original poster, it's floppy, not floopy.

I used to use them, but now I just use my mp3player to switch files, much quicker, easier and with much more capacity. I dont like floppy disks. I've always thought they were annoying, I guess also because it works kinda slow. I think it's outdated, we need something new OR more capacity for these things.
It is fun to put various files on one then forget about it for years and dig it up again, like I discovered a couple months ago =)

Btw, topic starter, I love your sig.

I use them for school... although they suck ass because they never make it there and back home. They tend to get fucked up by anything.

Can't keep them in my schoolbag and I can't keep them in my pockets.

I only have a floppy drive and the disks for repairing PC's.

Floppy drives are still the only natively detected and recognised media format.

USB is not native to AT/ATX technology. Hard drives (IDE and/or SATA) are not 100% recognised.

I don't use floppies all the time, but they come in handy.

I have two boot disks on floppys.

Apart from that, they're great fun to use as frisbees.
