Different countries have different grading systems. First post the scale and then maybe more people will participate. I'm assuming a 5 on your system is equivalent to an F on the traditional American grading scale.

A 5 in Western Australia is pretty good levels go from 1-8, 1 being the equivalent of a 2 year old 8 being University level. I'm guessing it isn't the case here.

well, where i come from, from the 7th to the 9th grade, level 5 which is the average level, anything below is thick, i either get lvl 5 to to 7, so YAY

Meh. I go to a foreigner's private school in Korea (PM me for full story), and it follows a nerdier version of typical American curriculum.

A: 96-100 Excellent
B: 88-95 Above Average
C: 80-87 Average
D: 75-79 Below Average
E: 70-74 Failing
F: 0-69 Dismal

Yes, we actually have a 'Dismal' grade. If you get even one F, you are forced to take after school tutoring for a week. If you have two F's in the same trimester (we have the year split into three, hence 'tri'), then you have to take a month's tutoring. If you get three...expulsion. Sucks...meh.
