3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsI can't be the only one who has noticed the sudden influx of low-teen-years prodigies suddenly coming to the forums after the call by O Mighty Fulp for more forum participation. We've got fifteen year olds waxing philosophical about the origins of life on Earth, whether God exists, the right to smoke where one wants, and other issues. No doubt most of these young prodigies hold advanced degrees in their fields, and are certainly more expert than most.
But no, seriously, I just can't stand them anymore. I'm running a perfect score on guessing the general age of a poster based on spelling, grammar, and lack of knowledge of the subject. They're always in that high school range, the age at which one knows everything far more than people who have actually experienced it, and are scholars of arcane subjects because they had a discussion on it in their government class.
I guess my point is that I hate them, and they need to chill out. At least the majority of the people on this forum that I would consider 'regulars' - HighlyIllogical included - make a post that invites alternate points of view and, for the most part, maturely refutes them while conceding that some people have more experience with the subject. These kids, you try to tell them anything, you're an idiot and part of the system that doesn't recognize their understated brilliance on something like Late Archean Fossil Geology.
Political question: Since they're not 18 and thus not people, can we kill them?
Im pretty sure we cant kill them but i totally agree with what your saying. I feel your pain
*Sshhh... I'm an NSA spy bot

Yes. But the question is how do we find them, and what’s the most painful and humiliating way of exterminating them?

Look for a dumb topic. Click their profile. Odds are they're between 13 and 17. I leave the choice up to you.
I have a problem there, I'm at work and newgrounds is barred, the BBS works....obviously....but anything else doesn't, profiles, portal, account screen ect.
But i'd imagine it's pretty easy to guess.

A surefire way to tell:
"omg iz wwiii coming bc of israle"
Sorry, I just try to give my opinions.
shut up, i think cause you probably just turned 19 and graduated from high school you feel superior to people 2 years younger than you. shut up.
Meh, the Politics forum was full of 14 and 15 year-olds talking about World views as if they actually had experiences to shape their opinions......... rather than getting them from books or being spoon-fed those opinions by others. As proof, I offer the fact that there is a $#^tload of topics on Communism; describing it as a Utopia. Meanwhile, with the possible exception of one other NG user who lives in China, I'm the only one around here who actually lived in a Communist nation. And yeah, unless you're a masochist, it wasn't a freaking utopia!
They've been here since before Wade made his topic about putting a bit more intelligence into the NG BBS.
In all fairness weren't you posting here too when you were seventeen, Der?

And many of those posts are depressing.

Sorry I asked?

But not nearly as stupid.

Would probably include nudity, their parents and the hot chick in their class... (not in a good way, mind).
Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
I agree with both of your points. 1. Yes I am indeed a high school prodigy. 2. I do tend to hold my views firm and argue them passionately.
I disagree with 1. not conceding victory to another argument.
My stance in this matter is that it is much more fun arguing with people from the 18-25 range because it's the time when their trhying to get all their life's education out of their head. This means they forget to do the stuff that 15-17 year olds do without a second thought. ie read a newspaper, look up phenonmena they see in everday life, and... oh yeah, we actually use the 'random article' button on wikipedia... for fun. You know what the best part is? The same people that argue as though their hardcore politicians are the same ones that still watch nickelodeon shows for kicks, crash their cars into yours, and drink and smoke daily... well in the summer at least. We kind of have the unwritten rule of no smoking and drinking on school nights, nights before sports, and nights where we're not in the mood.

Post corrected
With very, very few exceptions I find it hard to believe that someone in their early teens educated in the United States high school system would have more practically applied intelligence than someone in their mid twenties. And even they're lagging. The system ain't what it used to be.
2500 a head: no women, no kids... errr, ignore that last part.
Think you're pretty clever...
Ouch, I guess I have to leave then.

WINNAR.
Do you know the difference between going to College and studying anything to a teen who studies as an interest?
The intellectual capacity.
You make several generalizations, say you "hate them", state the reasons for their reasoning, then, sorta, kinda, call it wrong and irrational.
You're saying nobody truely learns without practicality, which is true when it comes to application, and that learning is an entirely void and different thing.

No, you're actually pretty good as far as a standard.
I've seen some intelligent posts done by younger people (13-17), but the thing I will agree upon is that there higher proportion of stupidity, the younger that you go. Makes sense, right?
It is a shame when I read a post with grotesque spelling and grammar, and think, 'What a fucking retard. How old is he?'.
And I go to check the profile... and he is 21.
I then begin to hope that he is some crack addict, or someone poorly trying to claim being 21.
Pandar! I'm ashamed! You said I post maturely! Meanie!
*blows raspberry*
But seriously-
It's quite important for all of us, especially those of us in the younger set, to recognize that we ought to regard being allowed to use the forums as a privellige and at least attempt to make some sense when we post.

I still think it's funny that you preach on about guns when you aren't even legally old enough to be affected by it.

So there's an age limit to who can be shot now...?

I wonder if people who criticize gun owners have ever actually fired guns.
Yup. A couple of my friends are into guns...big guns....don't know what kind, but i've had a shot (pun intended).
also use to be taken to a shooting range when i was a kid by a firends family and used hand guns before they were banned.
