Anywho, our friend that we met just got back from the SF zoo. He was there with his mom and his cousins. Anyways, he was telling us about how it was so-so, and then he remembered something interesting. He said he got to watch lions eat live rabbits. They were fed to the lions by the caretaker people, and everyone watched them.

Is that fucked up or not? I personally think that's horribly fucked up. My friend said some little girls were crying. Poor things. I mean, they're trying to make the argument that by feeding the lions live rabbits, it gives the lions a feeling of being in the wild. That's bullshit. How is that natural? In the wild, lions hunt the rabbits, they arn't just fed to them.

Well, it does seem wrong....just like feeding live mice to snakes in a cage. They don't seem much of a fighting chance do they? Well, once people have them....it's either the freezer, or the pen. Just like a famer keeping all those cute beef cows that you drive by... they're just waiting to end up with a shot gun blast - *pictures the cow from Napoleon* - to the head and on someone's plate. A captive animal's purpose varies by luck and not much else it seems. I love animals to a great amount....but I'm not a vegan. I can never really argue with much. That is, as long as the animal isn't mindlessly tortured in some manner. Then I just get pissed off.

and as a result so are the rabbits. and the lions at my zoo have a half an acre open outdoor area plus a shitload of indoor area. they would get pissed when the rabbits scurried into the dividing pit and whimpered in fear until someone threw a rock, scaring them into jumping into the lions jaws...

No it's not! Natural would be if a snake in the wild hunted down a mouse and ate it. Feeding a pet snake a live mouse isn't natural, it's a pitiful knock off of the snake's preferred old life.

I wouldn't personally want to watch the lion munching on a cute little bunny, but I must say... I live in Arizona and they're rampant here. TOO MANY. Just for the sake of argument, I say they should let a lion loose here to thin out the millions of rabbits that apparently all carry death wishes anyhow. I've had one too many of those buggers jump out in front of my car... I swear they do it on purpose.

mice are a nusince, like rabbits. they eat our crops that feed one filth of the world and kill the baby trees planted on arbor day. knowing that a few ofthem are being taken out in a respecteble is nice to know.

Sorry about your rabbits,
but they multiply WAY to fast. i could round up about five if i took my rifle and went outside for ten minets. they are overun here. EVEN IN TOWN! the parks fishing and hunting department has alot of trouble rounding tem all up in mating season. this is a nice way for them to go. instead of being shot. they can make a last stand. or atleaste think they have one.

Ok that example kinda sucked so here's a better one:
How do you feel about aquariums then? A lot of them feed the animals live fish and whatnot. If you have a pet ish, most likely the fishfood you feed it is made up of fish that either suffocated to death or died in the masher to make the food.
