Now that I got your attention...
Guess how many people'll watch this.
I say it's just like Britney posing naked when she's desperate, only Dakota sucks so much she has to do it this early. Strangely, I actually think her acting was okay in War of the Worlds.
My pocket full of cents:
Children being raped is an unfortunate but very realistic part of life. Having it captured in a movie wouldn't be easy to watch, but movies paint pictures of the good, bad, and the ugly. Movies aren't necessarily always meant to be entertaining thrillrides, some make you think, some change your life, and some open your eyes. Dakota Fanning has proved herself to be an excellent actress thus far, and pretty brilliant in her young age. I think they made an excellent casting decision, personally.
On a side note, one of the main factors everyone seems to be missing is the fact that this is a 'movie'. Meaning, this is Dakota Fanning 'acting'. What's the big deal? Because she's 12? Get over it, and move on - either watch it, or don't. If you're going to create a film about a child who's been dealt a really shitty hand of cards, you might as well get supreme realism from a girl who operates on a higher mental level - rather than scouting out the world's youngest looking 18 year old. Who, by the way, is bound to have terrible acting abilities, thereby turning the film into a low-class flop of a B flick.
It's that simple. Most of you need to develop your own opinions and stop clinging onto the more popular ends of discussions, simply because you're afraid of what people may think of you.
