Does this word have any effect on people whatsoever nowadays? Does it have the same effect that people seem to think it has, to make what they say sound more important, or serious, or threatening? Or have we all just been so motherfuck fuck fucking de-fucking-sensitized that it's just become a fucking sentence enhancer?

This word is used so much nowadays that it doesn't mean a fucking thing any more, people use it casually in conversation, where it isn't needed whatsoever: E.G. "Hey, do you wanna go to the fucking movies?".

I'm fucking boycotting this stupid fucking word until further fucking notice.

If you were to say it on the internet, the basic assumption is:
Hell, nobody on the forums can do anything about what I say.

But if you were to go to a formal dinner party, stand up and yell:

Fuck black people and this food is fucking nasty.

You might find is has an effect on people.

It would have been offensive a few years ago to randomly use "fuck" as you did, but today, everyone does it. I didn't even pay attention to all the f-words in your post because I read them as if they were any other word. I don't think swears have any importance anymore considering 5-year-olds are using them.

Me and my friend used to have fun with that word. We seriously just went downtown, in the middle of the shops, people, children and everyone, then yell "FUCK" as loud as we can. Then casually leave. But then he moved and now I am bummed.

It depends on where you hear it. If you see it here, no biggy. It happens on a daily bases. If you were to happen to find them saying fuck on, say, the Disney channel, it'd be pretty interesting. Yet, no matter where it's used, it doesn't really offend anybody anymore. That's why we need a new word that's just as vulgar to last us a few decades.

Stubbing a toe hurts so much that the F-word must be required if you wish to express your distaste at the painful moment.

also, 'fuck' is a good sentence enhancer, but when it gets thrown around pointlessly, and people use the word for no particular reason, it's effect does tarnish a little.

Still, I just love the word Fuck, it's a good word :)

I think "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" is an example of what you're talking about. The movie is Rated R only because Neil Page says the f-word about 20 times in one minute.

If you know someone who pretty much NEVER swears, and they start screaming and throwing fuck into the sentence...you know it's serious.

I find that if I hear someone "fucking" at things and they sound REALLY pissed off, it has an effect, it makes me wary.
