I dunno about him, but for those of us who don't play any DX12+ games, there's absolutely nothing to complain about.

Still the best experience. lol

Perfectly fine and Microsoft doesn't know how many calories I burn per hour. Refuse to "upgrade" to 10 out of principle.

Yeah, Win 7 was essentially the last 'traditional' Windows. And plus, the Aero theme it sported sure looked neat back then. Though of course it's understandable why computer interfaces have moved away from such stylish trappings...

Is it? Why? Besides, 10 still has "aero" and it still uses the gpu acceleration. It just isn't as obvious or nice looking.

It's also far less customizable and the OS overall leans more toward the close-minded, dumbed-down apple style.

What you see is what you get and you'd better not hope to do much customization. I really hate that trend.

Just the convenience of it really. I don't like having to do much tinkering with my home computer and Ubuntu has always been an easy option. When I'm setting up a new computer, usually I just run the installer, snap install spotify, apt install steam and I'm pretty much good to go.

I have never used any of the Slackware derived distros and don't have any reason to start using them now, so can't comment on those.

For the most part, I'm more of a Red Hat guy. I tend to run RHEL7 on servers and for a long time was using Fedora as my desktop OS. I switched to Ubuntu a while back just because it seemed to have more of the software I wanted in their default repos.

Fair enough haha! At the moment I'm using Slackware 14.2 as well as Debian Testing, but I'm not gonna lie, I also had great experience with openSUSE Tumbleweed and I'm absolutely amazed by the fact that they still maintain KDE 3.5.10 from 2008 in a different repository. In fact, Ubuntu was what I started with when I tried Linux for the first time. It was 11.04 to be exact, I was 8 years old and ran it alongside WinXP on a pretty bad hardware even for 2011 standards - one of the first Pentium 4's, 384 megabytes of RAM, integrated graphics and stuff like that. And if I remember correctly, Unity ran completely fine on that (although GNOME 2 is still better imo). I once wanted to see if Fedora is a good distro for my needs but it quickly turned out that it's not. Not sure why, but I still definitely prefer Debian over it. So yeah, I agree that convenience is defo one of the most important aspects if you're looking for a perfect distribution for yourself!

That seems like absolute overkill to me, but then..maybe not. Very cool.

You look like you could use this small program I found to customize your wallpaper.

Like I can set a different wallpaper/orientation for each monitor as needed.

Shoot me a PM and I'll see if I can dig it up. (I probably have the link someplace)

It definitely looks like it, I really only use one of the monitors for chatting to see whats being updated real-time as well as with my Task Manager, I rarely look over at that one unless something is actually happening. The center one is my main that I do most everything on. Right one is for if I need to double task on anything I am doing. Bottom is just my tablet. Most people probably have bigger televisions than how much room all my monitors are taking up.

Yeah. I got a 23 & 24 inch ones (24 is portrait oriented) But most of the time I'm just using the 23 inch one.

Anyway I'll look for the wallpaper program and link ya if you need it. Your wallpaper reminds me I really need to watch Venture Bros.

http://dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net/dualwallpaper.html This is it, though considering its name, with more than 2 monitors, you may have to look elsewhere for full customization. Who knows, maybe it supports more than two. lol

If that's the case, they should really update their screenshots. I don't have a way to hook up three at once so I can't test it. Good luck.

Oh yeah, I used to use this on my old PC a few years back. Windows 10 already has a feature to span the wallpaper across every screen, it looks super weird though... Thank's for the link, Ill probably remodel where all my monitors go later on.

As you can see, there's a whole lot going on in the picture, but not on the desktop itself. It might be poetic or something, I dunno.
