Well when I go to my control panel it takes me to a shortcut version, so I just got a bunch of folders. But I tried checking that last box and it still didn't work

Well right now I am reinstalling FEAR and I am afraid if I try to change the thing FEAR will close, causing me to be forced to reinstall it. But I appreciate all the helpful support you are giving me, so thanks. I will contact you via post/pm later on.

There I just changed my background and made the highlighted colors blend in. I couldn't get rid of the colored highlighting but I was able to change the color

if you want to get rid of the highlight; right click the desktop > icons > arrange by > untick/tick (whichever is relevent) the option that option that has something to do with the internet in it.

i forgot what the actual name of it is.

Right click on a blank space on your desktop
Arrange Icons By
and make sure that
Lock Web Items on desktop is "unchecked"

it shows up 100% transparent for me because i am using a custom skin; you're using the default aero :)

You mean the taskbar? There are ways of customising it using various programs. I use TClock, but a lot of people use WindowBlinds and other programs. Google WindowBlinds and see what you think
