I like mine where they belong.

In the start menu and the programs folder.

I know what you mean. I have my desktop set to not display any icons, I just put all my shortcuts in the Start menu. Means I can see the wallpaper better. Maybe it's the minimalism I like...

Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.

I think it's because most of us are just too used to it. I've changed mine a few times, it depends on what background you got I think =[

A large tag. And no, I do not believe in cluttering my desktop with icons, it's just impractical.

Exactly. The task bar is easily 10x more efficient and more accessible than any desktop shortcut.

Yessir! The only thing you'll see on mine is gadgets. I even feel my start menu is even a bit cluttered...the only reason you see Explorer there is for .gif viewing purposes. This is literally everything I use and will ever need on a computer.

FastStone Image Viewer is much faster for viewing both animated and non-animated gifs than IE. If you download it, just play around with a few settings so that it doesn't look as cluttered and is set as the default program for viewing .gifs.

Also, here's that one gif in the preview. It's hilarious.

I don't download anything (including music) because I don't have anti-virus.

Also, here's that one gif in the preview. It's hilarious.

Also, that .gif must be labeled with:

You know you're pretty much screwed when you go to a site that runs any kind of malware script, right? Alts post them here once in a while.

I recommend you acquire some antivirus/anti-spyware software as soon as possible. Whenever you visit a site, its contents get automatically downloaded into your temporary internet folder. So any pieces of rogue software are still gonna find their way onto your hard drive.
