i've tried it, and it is pretty awesome, you should look into dual booting if you wanna give it a try.

Nope, I used a bunch of applications to make my Ubuntu feel similar to Vista for a few minutes so I could take a screenshot. Ubuntu is really easily customizable.

Well Ubuntu is a distribution of Linux. It's basically a free (Free as in free speech and in this case free as in free beer) implementation of the Unix (Mac's use Unix) environment. The main difference is that it was built to run on x86 hardware (What windows typically runs on).

It's not a program you download and install to your PC. Some people have trouble wrapping their heads around that. It doesn't run Mac or Windows software for the most part. Everything you see is part of the graphical front-end, as Linux by default doesn't usually have anything other than a text based working environment.

my desktop has XP, my current laptop (that I'm using right now) has vista, and my other crappy laptop has ME.

Sure.

I don't really care, because it was hella' easy to set up my PC. Vista took care of all of the drivers, and plugged-played everything.

Computers are just computers, and there's no stabillity issues to me.

Speed is not much of an issue to me either.

I love Windows Vista, but I still love Windows XP.

I'm actually thinking about switching to Linux after seeing Peaceblossom's awesome screenshots.

I look for perfect user interface's in operating systems.

Mine is very simple.

There's definitely some decreased functionality if you choose Linux. I'm glad you like my screenshots but I know my way around Linux quite well. It's a big transition to go from Windows to Linux because things are organized differently (and in my opinion it's organized better).

If you're really serious I suggest you go with something easy. The latest release of Ubuntu comes out in 8 days, and it should have the drivers you need to get up and running right away with no hassle.
