Who are the judges and how are they going to judge the songs? Are they just going to review it? or post comments on judgiung the songs on here? (Something I thought of today)

Well I think judges should comment on the song, leave a brief overview of their total points on here, so averages can be more easily determined.

Since I haven´t decided who are to judge yet, noone really knows :)

I will send out a PM to everyone who have voulenteered later this week, most likley before the weekend.
The ones who will actually judge will help deciding if they themselves wants to write commentary of the songs they judge. To keep the contest simple I mentioned in the judging part of the first post that there will be no commentary, only a score from 0-10, but if all judges tink it´s cool with making a commentary and motivation of their score, I´ll support that of course!
The reason the "score only" system was just to make things easy, so no judge would go "aww i dont wanna judge when you have to write stuff..." :)

And why I want to keep things easy is to actually make this contest happen, so it won´t just disapear in the big abyss of "contest attempts...". Also, making things more advanced from the start has a greater risk of having alot of errors, wich would be a disturbance a new contest concept would suffer from having, no doubt!
But like i said, juding will be up to the judges. I will make a few suggestions and guidlines, and the judges will be helping out deciding how far they want to take the judging, and how much work they want to spend.

Oh ruckie, I'll be posting a song within the next 48 hours... been working on it for the last week or so. Hope I win! But good luck to everyone, because you'll need it to beat me.

Well, actually its mentioned in the 6´th rule that:

"- ONE song only each month / user. Don´t come around with crappy alts."

There is no mention of collabs, so this shall be accepted, but there will be no GoreBastard, Manspider, bastardmanspider, spidermanbastardmanspiderbastard or your bastard collabfriend (whom i dont know who you are) in the contest in that case.

It is preferred that you submit as an individual however. If there is alot of objections, i might have to reconsider.

Well yes the score only system for judging does sound good, but I think that you should find more experienced individuals to judge, so that it would be more fair, and not based on favorites... Maybe just find a bunch of blunt straight forward people who don't care what other people think but will be honest if it's good... I suppose some people would refer to them as "assholes" but they're actually just blunt. Just giving my opinion, but yes, this would be a good choice for the judges (In my opinion of course).

Unfortunatley its difficult to know who are good/ bad judges unless you´re prepared to read through a shitload of reviews to find the right reviews written by the right person.

So, the ones who have voulenteered will all recive the first "judge PM", and then we, the judges who gets approved of judging (and I) will take it from there.

However, if anyone have any bright ideas, please don´t be shy, just spit it out. But be sure you´ve read the first post, so you understand the purpose of the contest, along with the basic thought behind it

1. Simple contest = ppl to join.

2. Established contest with already a "fanbase" aiming to become more "serious" when it comes to judging system, and overall rules.

3.Established contest will strive to get more attention + better awards.

I haven't been able to create a new song for this contest, so I'm just gonna use Dark Winds as my submission, I don't see any rule breaking as it was submitted in July and fit all the criterias at the AP, as well as being a full song.

Umm. I'v submitted a piece but if you want I could take it out and judge instead.

I like all types of music and i promise i'll be fair! Plus since I just joined I havn't really made any "favorites"... well ya I have favorite artists but I promise i'll be fair!

Another idea is you'll just get an anomonous judge who you will make sure is adaquate. He/she will send you his scores and you will post them! That way he doesn't have to worry about his friends or favorites saying "hey man... wtf i thought i was ur favorite" or some shit like that :D

Anyways, plz don't take my submission out unless ima be judge! And umm... I hope that didn't sound rude or blunt or anything... I just wanna make sure you don't take it out AND don't let me judge... that would stink! >_<

That´s 20 contest entries so far!!! That´s a whole lot more than I expected, and there´s still time for those who haven´t submitted :)
This probably means that I will explore the possibilites/liabilites with the "cross-juding system" i´ve mentioned in earlier posts in this thread. It´s quite simple really, but more about that later on.
This means it´s time to hook up judges and start fineshapeing the judging system, and what else we need to work out. I´ve most basics covered (you can read the most basics in the first post even :), but we still need to check a few things.

here´s a few things worth mentioning

About Covers

As with the AP in general, covers are a doubtful area. Allthough they are considered legal, it is still a little bit of a grey-zone. This is based on what have been discussed in THIS(old but still valid) thread, by FDA.

Collaborations

Collabs are allowed, but to avoid confusion and multiple songs from same author(wich is NOT allowed in this first MAC), other identities/alts must be revealed for the record, and all parts should preferrably verify the song entry.
If you wish to keep your identity/alt secret/hidden/bushwacked, but still wishes to participate, you must PM me with your alt, and say who´s in on the job.
I will NOT reveal who you are, not for judges, contestants or spectators (uhm... listeners...audioators?). Think of me as your shrink, i´ll shut the hell up, I have full understanding for the need/will of releaseing music under a "secret identity/alt". :) This is, like mentioned, so there will be no multiple songs from the same author.
Also, MAC6 july is not to be thought of as a collab contest, therefore solo performances are incouraged (most audio artists in the AP ARE solo artists...)

Genre Information

As you can see, I have added genre information on this update. Most have the genre they´re submited to, but some (good responsible ppl:) have also entered what genre they think their song REALLY belongs to.
Example (with selfless selfpromotion YAY!!!)

"Miscellaneous" is the genre song is submitted to in the AP, and whatever´s after the "-" is authors genre placement.

SoulStrings, please re-submit your contest entry to this thread, if you wanted a new one. your old entry is valid until you update (with a link, and sub-genre if you wish, of course ;)
This goes for everyone else too. I´d prefer if you stick with your original entry, but hey, it´s not too much hassle unless everyone all of a sudden wants to change submission >:(

When july is over, i will gather all contestants and give them to the judges.

I´ll let you all in on the complete judging details as soon as everything is covered. It´s all being discussed at the moment.

No judges have been confirmed yet. There are many who have voulenteered, and a couple of you have been asked to judge. All will at this stage recieve the first judge letter. It will be decided later on who will actually do the judging!
