... That just about summarizes the hystory of the internet. My brain threatened to kill me if I continued reading. But I get the vibe of your writing. To be passionate enough to write something so long... I can't possibly allow myself to disagree with you.

That might be a mistake on your part. Lots of people have lots of things to say, but it could easily all be giberish, and the best parts might be somewhere at the end if they existed. But thank you for your vote of confidence.

It isn't really a history of the internet, but more a history of my experiences half way through my experiences on the internet...

Hmmm, interesting composition. Not sure how to take it, seeing as I haven't been around for long enough to form a fully valid opinion of this place, but it seems you've analysed it quite well. You strike me as a fairly intelligent user and a pretty good person, if a bit too serious at times. And like others said, you could be a decent mod.

But anyways, meaningful stuff aside, congrats on 7000 posts =)

Personal connections, I've made on an internetioual level but never like hey call me we have to talk kinda thing. I've added three people from ng to my myspace (but that was my old one), the new one I like to add only people in georgia, more specificly the people that go to my school, so I have about 110 "friends" from school...off topic

Alot of the time I only talk to NG members out of NG or through PM's b.c of some joke, or someone is pissed at me, we might have a b/p race.

I think the most important thing here that I would have to add is this:
Back when we had the scoring system is when b/pers really banned together to help eachother out, people could probably still do it now but it involves was more than simply voting and telling your eBuddy weather to vote 0 or to vote 5

I am like 1 of 4 NG members that lives in GA and I see that most of the NGers here actually know each other or live near eachother...it's kinda awkward

You'll get the hang of it I'm sure. And thanks for your votes of confidence and all that, though you may have misinterpreted what others have said in this thread.

yup, thanks.

Don't get me wrong, I've aimed with a few people here and there, but I never really valued or looked for friends on the internet. As for myspace, I check it about once a month, accept all new requests and then don't do anything with it.

Alot of the time I only talk to NG members out of NG or through PM's b.c of some joke, or someone is pissed at me, we might have a b/p race.

Yeah, that is pretty standard stuff.

I think the most important thing here that I would have to add is this:

I never really liked the people who did that. I always thought that people should be able to judge a movie on their own and that general concensus from the audience of newgrounds would push the movie one way or the other. Since all newgrounders would express their opinion, the majority would inevitably be pleased by the results of the system.

I am like 1 of 4 NG members that lives in GA and I see that most of the NGers here actually know each other or live near eachother...it's kinda awkward

Very few NG members actually know each other. I live in PA, but I've never met any of the users that live in the area. A lot of regs give the impression that they know each other, and a lot of that has to do with just being here a long time. Also a lot of the chat people have stronger connections to each other than some of the forum users do. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Those who stick to it and act intelligent or go with the masses tend to break in through the clicks that exist or form their own.

Thank you for saying that. I mean, sure there are people who do know what they are talking about and certainly most of those do have high stats. But I do also know a lot of people with high stats who knows nothing.

The only thing to do would be to make a list of people who could be "qualified advicers". Hehe.

On another note, you mention the alternative account Grish_Noren; I always believed that that was your official alt. account, but apparently, I was just "watching you". ;-)

More than several. Knowing how to click a button doesn't make you intelligent, especially when it tells you what it does. "post it!"

Not really needed in my opinion. Who would run it? Who would care? And how many pointless e-drama topics would there be about the people who make it and the people who actually got in or didn't get in.

That was one of the best things I ever read. I guess it is pretty nice that the BBS is not full of intellegent topics, other this topic would just seem like every other topic. I just find it odd how you sum up your adventures on the BBS and pretty much the BBS itsef in only two posts. It makes me think of when I opened my eyes to the internet and the BBS. Back then, it seemed all shiny, new, and amazing, but now it's more of a common thing. All this time I was envious of Mods and people with higher post counts. After reading that, I feel that 1,000 posts isn't something to be so proud of. It is, as it is a symbol of the ability to post things without being banned all the time. How many posts a REALLY decent? Worth reading? Not many. Now 1000 posts just seems like a number.

Nice post.

I would rather this just be another topic and be some golden find. I don't think this topic is particularly up there. Its just a bunch of my opinions and experiences.

Good. Because thats all it is. I honeslty have never felt some surge of relief for getting a set # of posts. Its like being a year older. A lot of people make a big deal out of it but you don't actually feel any different.

Yes, they should, English should certainly become the official international language which people from all countries would have to learn.

It gets on my nerves too when you get banned for no justifiable reason. And if you complain, you get another ban.
Anyway, most of the whole thing made sense. I just don't give too much a care for NG nowadays... As you said, they're mostly just people who want to get an uppity over someone else, even someone they completely don't know... Why get too worried about it, right?

After reading your story about your life and experiences on the Internet I had a strange feeling in my mind, I think I have gotten smarter. I now also have come to the conclusion that stats are not all that there cracked up to be, they don’t really do anything for your post but make you "look" more intelligent than you really are. I hope one day I can read more post that are just as intelligent and meaningful as yours.

But then again, hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Earfetish, of all the people who like to be attention whores, you have knack for being good at it. Even if that isn't your goal, whatever you do you'll pull it off and no one will care how tired it is because you tend to have spark of originality, even if it is gross to me.

Yeah, I just ran through what drove me to come here and what kept me here, I could have kept writing, but even fewer people would have read 3 pages of posts...
