Hey Everyone,
You can find PHP: Main right here.
This thread will be used for all discussion having to do with PHP: Main. The only thing you should NOT post in here related to PHP: Main is links to your tutorials.
Let the discussion begin!

Yeah, it's really doing pretty well.
I'm going to keep trying to think of promotion ideas. I encourage everyone else to also. But REASONABLE ideas. For instance, I'd like to see PHP: Main get a shoutout on the front page, but lets be realistic, that's not going to happen. So reasonable promotions.

You cannot salt a md5 encryption.

The start of a true OOP tutorial. Tell me what you think. There is not much there yet in the way of learngng keywords yet, but I am getting there. It takes time. Tell me what you think about is so far.
*Note* Allow pastebin a good 5 min or more to load, it has been slow lately for some reason.

As I said in the other thread, I like it a lot. I think you explain everything very well.
One thing I'd really like to see in it is just a list of some examples of when OOP is appropriate, as I don't feel it always is.

Oh yeah guys, 1 more IMPORTANT note.
For the PHP: Main supporters, when you put the link in your sig, post HERE to make sure you get credit in the next update. Thanks.
Sorry for the DP.

Thanks. I try to make sure of that for the readers sake. If I think the user could get confused that they could not find their way out of it, I will re-write the section.
I will add that at the end of the tutorial. You aoe right though, there are times when it is not appriopate to use it.

If the Programming forum gets a sticky PHP: Main pretty much covers it all. Except some rules and such, but PHP: Main, C: Main and all the others cover complete listings of the posted tutorials. :) So it's actually quite easy to get our sticky right now.

A really big tutorial I want done is one on regular expressions because they are so confusing and it is hard to find good tutorials on them.

I may be able to write a mysqli one, as most people here have not likley touched the mysqli extension. Don't count on it though. I am busy at this time.

So I don't have to make an update to PHP: Main when one new tutorial was submitted.
Posted at: 7/18/06 05:20 PM
What GamesCool means to say is, so discussion of tutorial ideas an such can go here, and not take up room on the PHP: main pages, that are reserved for tutorials. With this we will get the full 30 tutorials per page, instead og maybe 5-7.
