Yes, this quote is really old, but no gun is "bad" for speedball. You are bad for speedball. I have played speed ball from DM9's to autocockers to tippmanns to phantom pump markers. And its way more than running and gunning, you have to be aware of your surroundings and make sure you dont get tunnel vision. It involves teamwork and communication, it is just a adrenaline rush.
Also, I would love to join, I actually play on a Semi-Pro scenario team, but IMO i am a bad ass at speedball.
Here, I will list my markers but I am not going to list the specs. Too much.
Tippmann A5
Tippmann C3
Dye Dm8 1 of 30
Dye DM9
Ego 08
Phantom Pump (VSC)
Palmers Double barreled pump-class marker
BT-4 Delta elite
Dynasty Autococker eblade
Smart Parts Vibe (POS)
Smart Parts ION XE
I know I haven't posted anything lately, but I just have to comment on this. You claiming that no gun is bad for speedball is just plain stupid. Yes, the gun doesn't make the player, and yes, a good player can possibly win with anything that shoots straight, but the gun helps a lot for speedball and xball. Let's say that you are given a choice of 2 guns. One being a new DM9 and the other being an early 1990's Tippmann. You are honestly going to tell me that having a smaller, more accurate, faster gun isn't better than a 3bps gun that chops paint and shoots wildly? I know that you didn't say some guns are better, you said no gun is bad. Take any gun manufactured before 1988 and tell me the length and speed are good for speedball.
Anyone who plays speedball competitively knows that you want to stay small and fast. Carrying a gun that's 2 feet long, not including barrel, nearly 10 lbs with full hopper and inaccurate is a BAD speedball gun. Don't say "A good player can win with anything". Although it's very true that skill wins, not the gun, you can't say no gun is BAD for speedball if you claim to be semi-pro.
no gun is "bad" for speedball. You are bad for speedball. I have played speed ball from DM9's to autocockers to tippmanns to phantom pump markers" just says to me that you are either not who you say you are, or you are trying to sound smart or good or some shit like that. Play even a D3 XBall team with one of your Tippmanns or pumps and then talk about it.
I have played with 98's in a legit 5v5 speedball game. Everyone in this game had at least 1 good sponsor. I play front and play as hard as I can every game, but guess what? When the gun is as heavy, big and awkward to snap with as that, it is a BAD SPEEDBALL GUN. And don't even try to say it's me who's the bad speedball player on this one. I feel safe betting that I will beat most D3 players if we both use our own gun or the same gun.
I guess the bottom line of this whole thing is this:
I couldn't disagree more with your "no gun is "bad" for speedball. You are bad for speedball." comment. Huge, heavy, inaccurate, unreliable and awkward guns are BAD whereas small, light, accurate, fast and comfortable guns are GOOD. Why do you think everyone uses the "GOOD" markers if no gun is bad?
