In my local paintball and airsoft field, they supply you with a vest, shin guards, crotch cup and mask (it's mandatory to wear them). However, I also wear a ski mask to cover my neck and a helmet to cover the back of my head. All the gear restricts movement, but everybody wears them, so theirs no disadvantage, really.
overalls and a mask, thats all, if you get hit your doing something wrong
i should be able to stop using rental overalls and wear some proper military camo soon

Wear in paintball, or airsoft?

I think I just turned gay.
Woah Snye, where do you get all that money?
Anyway, a guy from TechPB on Youtube is making a wonderful offer. If he receives 10k subscribers, he will buy 10k worth in paintball guns.
Here it is, and check out the others for some sweet information...like not going to PBnation lol.

Sorry if this has been answered already previously, I just don't have time to weed through all the posts.
Let me just state that I am a complete noob when it comes to paintball (never owned a gun yet).
I was hoping somebody might be able to help me with a question about the Tippmann Alpha Black.
Looking at the pictures, the barrel seems just a little too short. I was wondering if it were possible to buy a standard 14 or maybe even 16 inch tippmann barrel, but not have to sacrifice the foregrip, because I think that's awesome looking. Is the foregrip attached to the stock barrel? If so, where could I find a good replacement barrel (14 or 16 inch) with a similar foregrip attached?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing that if you get a new barrel, you won't be able to keep the foregrip. But, you can probably get another barrel thats bigger and better with the foregrip, I'm sure.
Just wait for someone else to respond. I don't know that much about tactical paintball :(

Although I am not 100% certain, I'm quite sure that the handguard and the barrel are two separate pieces, so I think you can go ahead and buy a new barrel.

paintball this weekend, and i got my school to go! :D:D:D
Speaking of red dots, I just received mine in the mail last night. =3
Now all i need is a new barrel (either J&J or Lapco Bigshot), a vertical grip, a sight rail, a shorter magazine, and perhaps a G36 front shroud.
sexy
i had the reflex site type of red dot, although i am switching it for a scope, need to get a sight riser too...
and there theres the barrel, and the q-loader, and the responce trigger, and the ghillie, and the...
OK we gotta get this going again. It's summer, that means paintball whenever you feel like it! I'll start with what happened in the last month or so that no one posted.
Basically, my gun was messed up big time. I gave it to my uncle to install a regulator a while ago, just because I didn't have the time back then, and he gave it back with Teflon tape on it. I asked why and he told me it would prevent leaks. Thought that was a little strange, but went with it. Didn't have time to argue or ask more questions at that time. Went to the paintball place shortly after i got my gun back. It felt lighter, more compact and more comfortable. Everything was going just as it usually does until i went to go chrono. Put my air in my gun and starts leaking right away. Took it apart at the tables and took a look at it. I thought it was the Teflon tape and I was right. I put the air back in after removing it to fix my gun and now it started leaking from the firing chamber....
At this time I'm pretty damn pissed. My first time going for FUN in a long time and my gun is in pieces on the table. Now, leaking from the firing chamber is luckily and easy fix most of the time. It's usually the bolt that's messed up or the hoses aren't connected properly. So, first I checked the hose. The O-Ring that should have been there was gone and in it's place was a huge ass O-Ring that just barely allowed the banjo fitting to go into place. Now, I know that could have been the leak, but because my gun was already apart, I figured may as well look at the bolt too, right? So I take a look and again, there in an oring out of place. One that shouldn't even have been there this time. That little Oring made the bolt just far away enough to cause it to leak.
So basically I took my gun apart and fixed everything that could be wrong with it so far. First the regulator and then the firing chamber. At this point I've already missed a good 2 games (Well, 1 game really. The other game was low-tech). So I put in my air and now it's leaking from the hose that goes from the bottom ASA to the regulator. Took the hose off and it looks like someone cut it with a pair of scissors, I shit you not. The hose's ends were all messed up. Instead of being a straight cut that is usually done, its a really sloppy, squished, deformed cut that changed the airflow from my tank to the regulator. Buy a hose there, cut it myself this time, and put it in.
At this point, if my gun isn't going to work, I'm ready to kill someone. I put in the air and it finally works. I go chrono, reload everything, put my jersey and pants on, put in my goggle lens and put all the tools I used away. Missed 3 good games and 4 games that I wouldn't have played anyway. Oh well, right? What are ya gunna do?
So the moral of the story is this - Leave your gun with someone who is 100% sure on what they're doing. Looks like I'm doing my own gun work from now on...
Yeah so about the actual paintball. I went with a few friends who aren't bad but I wouldn't ever have them on my team's starting roster. They go just for fun, which is why I bring them. Paintball is beginning to look like work to me, and I can't have that. We met up with 2 of my teammates there, so now we had a group of 5 and felt like taking on the refs there for some reason. Probably because they are nasty. They said no because they had to ref and work, but we knew it was because they didn't want to get their asses kicked.
Highlights of the night would be when me and one of my friends hit both snakes off break and almost literally just walked down the field killing everyone. Then a classic 4v2 match with my and the worser of my 2 teammates against 4 of them. Lucky for me, I went mid that game and he's a backmen. He shot one, I shot one, I shot one, I covered him on a run through for the win. And my personal favorite moment of paintball that night was when there was 4 of them left and I think 6 or 7 of us. Can't really remember...but anyway, There was 4 left and I knew where they all were - 1 back left, 1 back right, left snake and mid 30. One move. One win. ran across the field from my right 30 to bunker the left snake, ran around the center 30 bunker to bunker that guy, and dove past the back right bunker to shoot the last 2. I'm not going to lie, that may have been the most insane move I've done or even see anyone do. A 4 man run through. Usually 2 is really good.
So, my gun broke, got it fixed, had the time of my life playing paintball - just as God intended.
Holy shi-! I love Ebay hahaha.
Crossfire 3000psi 48ci tanks usually go for about 70-100$ around here if I'm correct. I went on Ebay and bid on 2used ones who's Hydrotest isn't for another year and the total cost with shipping was only 60$ (30$ for tanks, 30$shipping)
I love the internet, I love Ebay, I love money....

I seem to never be able to play paintball anymore. The most recent game we had was really big and I couldn't go. The next big game I can't go to either. This sucks.
i love paintball , i'm on a team but we suck we have 2 out of 5 stars and our shitty ass sponsor could only afford black maxes
heres a pic of me and my team after a practice

I'd like to join. My paintball gun is a Tippmann A5. Here's a picture of it.
I'd also like to join, this i a pic of my 8th airsoft gun i bought off of ebay.
Hey guys, I have one question. In the UK, what we call ''BB Guns'', are they Airsoft guns, or less powerful?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

BB guns in the U.S are guns that shoot Metal pellets and airsoft guns shoot plastic pellets. Or at least the Airsoft and BB guns I shot.
Also, I might be selling my gun. If anyone is interested in buying a custom made gun that has seen some really amazing competition and great tourneys, let me know. I'll upload some pics of it tomorrow, but basically it was an Ion and I swapped out every stock part for some of, if not the best parts I could get my hands on.
-Black Dynasty Body
-Black NDZ Scorpion trigger frame on 15 degree angle. Basically like the Karnivor.
-Black Dye Hyper 2 regulator
-Black NDZ Firing chamber + Threads
-Black Freak barrel with .689 insert and 14" Black tip or 16" green tip
-Metallic Olive Green NDZ Blade Trigger
-Black Redz Clamping Feed neck
-Green Virtue eyes
-CP Bottom line ASA
-APE Board with Membrane
-New hoses and Banjo Fittings
-Black Ball Detents
-Black Dynasty grips
-Lucky bolt
Just What it has on it. Everything, in total, cost me well over $2,000 and for a few years, it was the best investment I ever made. It was fast, accurate, light and looked amazing. Always having people ask me what gun I'm using just makes me feel good about it. Even people at the highest level of competition don't know what to call it. Last time I went, the people at the field thought it was a Dynasty Shocker because it had a Dynasty Body....
The only thing I don't like about my gun is the fact that I can never give it to anyone else to work on. It's extremely unique and not many, if any at all, know what it really is or what to do with it. I really don't like taking it apart and working on it. The problem I think I'm going to have with selling it is that most people don't know how to work on a gun. Half the people I know don't even clean their own gun, they drop it off at their local paintball shop and have them do it. I tried that once. They gave it back to me in a shoebox and told me it would never work again. Came back 2 days later and rubbed it in their face.
But about paintball, I'm not really enjoying it as much as I used to. The pressure of making a team, scheduling practices, finding scrimmages, designing jerseys and trying to help people get better and lead everyone is really hard. Especially when you're telling people to do one thing and they do another. It's like the people I'm trying to help aren't making any improvement at all. If you don't know what that feels like, it's extremely demoralizing. You put your heart and soul into something and it goes nowhere.
Honestly, there are times when I just want to quit it all. I think I'm taking it too seriously. I went outdoors last time and I think I made a few kids cry. I just got so into the game that I got into the feeling that I was in a higher competition game. I felt like such a dick after that game. Paintball isn't supposed to be about yelling at people and over reacting like I did. It's about having fun and helping newbies to get into the game. You never know if that 10 year old shooting a rental gun could be the next Oliver Lang or not. I feel like I disgraced the sport by the way I acted that day, and I apologize to everyone who ever played paintball for that.
I'm going to take a break from paintball for at least a month and see what that does for me. I found a team manager and a decent coach a while back, so I'll let them and the co captain take care of everything. I just hope I can get back into the mindset that paintball is for fun first and profit and winning later. I think that's all I need.
Yep, BB Guns here shoot yellow plastic pellets.
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
hell, dude, your under pressure, thats what it sounds like
your teams not going to be able to keep up with you all of the time, might not like the sound of it, but if that is the case, your going to have to slow down a bit, and rethink your methods
taking a while off is a good idea, try some recball if you feel up to it, no competition there
-----------------------------------
i'll cut my school trip short, everyone on the other team shat themselves when they figured i was on the other team (a feat i was proud of) and we won 2 games, lost one and drew another, my personal highlight was knocking out a teacher and 4 people in 4 seconds, and hitting the flag carrier in the chest, although it didn't break, he jumped in suprise, his hopper hit a tree and his paintballs flew everywhere, i ran forward, didn't see the 4 guys in the bunker behind him, dodged most of there shots somehow, then got hit in the square of the back
and mate, i would keep your gun for sentimental value, i would NOT want to let that go if it were mine

Thanks a lot man. Yeah we got Zap, V-Force, SupAir and the local paintball field, Splatter Paintball. When I first decided to start the team, I think I thought it'd just be a fun and easy way to get noticed and eventually make a lot of money. I didn't realize how hard it would actually be. It's not that my team can't keep up with me, because we got a few players who are probably better than me. It's just that I feel like I'm not helping them or getting through to them.
I really want to go play woodsball sometime again but I don't want to be using my gun or gear. I don't want to go to the nearest outdoor paintball place for me because everyone there knows me and I'll feel like I have to be the best there or it'll be a disappointment. I'll probably just drive for an hour or 2 to the next woodsball field and use full rental gear. I really think I need to take a break from all this. The grind is just too much for me right now.

Haha, sounds like that was fun. Sounds like you did really good to. It's good to see that every time you go, you seem to have a good time. That's what this sport is all about.

Yeah, I guess. I feel like I put a lot of myself into it, so I might as well.
I'm actually looking for a team in mid-michigan. If I can't, I'll start my own.
Here's my attack stradegy fo my paintball field:
so your going straight through where you think your enemies are gonna be moving, i don't normally think thats a good idea, and i'll tend to go around or let them run past me (few good hiding spots on my field)
what you do NOT want to do, is sit, in there line of fire, or let them see you, that looks like woodsball after all, just sit there and surprise them, move slowly, crawl alot
what do you have to do to the target tower?
You must touch it...Also..I have decent camoflage, so I'm covered as long as I can find some plants to put on me...
This is the airsoft gun I have (SM-6 Spring rifle), it's pretty cool and I got it cheap.
Its not exactly as it is in the picture, as most of mine is orange. I don't know where I can play though D:
