Flash Pays off Big time!

Well, my mum is a graphic designer. She was asked by a person, (Lets say his name was Bob) to do a website for a company that makes windows. Bob wants the company to think that he did all the work, whereas it was mom who actually did the work. In return, Bob would pay mom $1,200!!!!! Now, mom is ok with websites, but not all too hot with flash. She came to me and asked me to do a little extra programming on the websites, (javascript stuff and some simple html) and also asked me to do some programing with flash. In return, she'll pay me $200 for my hard work!

Indeed, flash pays off. For those starting flash, learn plenty of actionscript, because if you can make an entire site with flash, companies will pay you up to the eyeballs with cash! (If you're lucky.)

I always wondered if a childrens games site for example cbbc, would ever pay you to make games for them, when i finish my current project i may look in to that...

flash is a great tool and people get payed 200+ to do easy things, sadly im looking for a GOOOD tutorial on AS. It seems as though flash AS tuts on NG all suck...

I wouldnt call $200 being paid up to the eyeballs but it's certainly a good start. I think web programming will get you more money then AS. I should'nt say that in front of afro_ninja though because he is a living contradiction to that statement

this boosts my urge to learn AS, if i can make any money from flash than i will be happy. maybe by the end of the year ill be able to make a good game, hopefully ill be able to do much better when pico day comes up next year.

I actually feel bad that I ripped off that person so badly, it only took me 2 hours but I didn't give it to him for 3 days.... now I'm regretting it :'(

I make quite a bit of a living doing minor actionscript and banners in flash. It probably comes out to about $6000.00 a year, doing small things for my girlfriend's freelance company. If I get a website or two for myself, you can triple that number.

Add some flash sponsorships or contests for your own game and you're golden.

There is alot of opportunity for people who do cartoons/games/websites in flash to make a killing.

I'm really waiting for AS2 to go the way of the buffalo in 5-10 years, so that developers will be forced to outsource to programmers who konw AS3.

Most (not all) layout artists are also versed in programming enough to do everything themselves.

Most developers charge $30-$60 an hour, fyi. You gave him a good deal... $15 an hour.

Also, in my last post, I meant to say that most layout artists are NOT versed enough in programming.

the people who made homestarrunner.com make a living of flash...but they get money from there store but if they stopped updating the site every week then there would be no money.

My dad got flash for free because he would design buttons for lots of companys... and now he doesnt do that anymore, so he gave flash MX to me..=) I hope i learn how to make websites and better animations so I can make some money doing it, that would be awesome.=)

Yeah it is..so compared to 600 measley bucks to buy Flash 8 and the money you can get from flash projects it IS worth it

Yeah, my freind( well a person I know) was was payed 10,000 for a car company site. He is 19, and it took him a week to make. He said he used flash and photoshop and he does this regularly. He is rich. Most of his time is free due to the money he makes. I agree 110% flash and web designing is worth it . ^^

Well making good flashes pay big time but making some crappy flashes well it really belongs to the turd of the week, underdog, and blammed cemetery. so i won't being clicking on those it's a waist of time for me seeing some crappy movies.
