Hello fellow regulars,
First off: I am posting this topic in the Programming forum since this is the forum which I am spending the most time in when I am on Newgrounds' BBS. I am aware that stat-topics are kinda against the rules, but since the Programming forum is not being flooded with the stat-topics I thought I should give it a try.
As reaching this milestone I thought it would be a nice idea to stand still about my time I've been on NG. Yes, I try to tell the whole story.
2003
I joined Newgrounds on 9/7/03 . I browsed around the Portal for a longer time, but after a while I found it was time to finally create an account of the website I visited most often. Than it all began.
I started to getting interested working Flash. At least knowing how to. After returning from the hospital (I had a very nasty bone-infection) I needed to stay home for two weeks. Enough time for me to work around a bit with Flash. Most of my submissions weren't of high quality and 60% of them got blammed within a hour - I need to admit they were crap.
Newgrounds became a daily routine of me. Deposting my experience points, trying to rank up my B/P points and browsing the BBS. First I was kinda lazy depositing my experience points, so I could have been on a higher level, probably 17, near 18. In the main time I've made quite some friends in the Flash forum and that was an excellent way for me to learn more about Flash.
2004
In this year not much has changed. The funny thing is, that I recall I let a few friends sign-up on NG, pity was, they've never become really active because they could not stop playing Medal of Honor/Soldier of Fortune II.
Now school became a bit harder and I was getting low grades. Not that I cared, but my parents did... Time to work on that - next year till graduation and all grades are being taken to the next year. 2004 was also the year I created my personal website Zendra.net (view it on WebArchive.org). A friend helped me around to make a very simple website, although, written in PHP. This was also the first time I've became in contact with PHP. Like 80% of the websites I visited used PHP to make the pages dynamic. For the rest nothing specials has happened. I browsed on NG, played games and got good grades.
2005
This year, I remember as a really weird year. Here things have changed. I knew I was not such an artist with animating in Flash, so in time I've lost my interest working with Flash. I also requested from Wade that he'd delete all my submissions that were not blammed - this because most of them all had a score of 1.80, 2.05, etc. Getting higher than 2.50 was hard, I knew that. So Wade was so nice to delete all my submissions. For a few months I've been browsing the boards, rank-up my B/P points, and etc, etc. Then I suddenly stopped by the Programming forum. What? Yes. I never bothered checking it before - of course I've visited a couple of times before, but not that I stayed around. I already had very little experience with PHP this board was a perfect way to learn more about it.
I bought my first PHP book (MySQL/PHP Database Applications) and starting to teach myself PHP and MySQL. Later on in 2005 I started to become more active in the Programming forum and people were asking ME to do work for THEM. That was awesome.
This was also the year I needed to do exams. The fun thing is: I barely looked in the books. When it was time to study for the exams, I was on the beach - it was nice weather man. I passed all of them and none was lower than 7 (on the scale of 1/10) - so my parents didn't knew how I managed to do that. Bet I am a new Einstein.
So, school was over, I found myself some work and I joined a couple of other websites. Also, in the year Pilot-Doofy hired me as co-programmer of MustyWindows.com (see Pilot-Doofy's topic).
After sitting home for three months it was time to move on to the next school, since school season was starting again. I started my new education: Financial Accountant 4 (4 stands for the level, 4 is in this case the highest). On high school I was good at math and economics (scored a 8.4 on match and a 9.2 on economics, my Germans was bad 7.1). So I went to do that...
2006
This year most have been the most busiest year in the years I've been hear. I've had work, sports, school. School was really asking a lot of my time. But in the weekends and most of my spare time I did continued my hobby. In this year I've also learned a couple of new languages, such as Perl, Pyhton, C. But I wanted to keep it all web-based, but knowing how to create a shell script might be useful. In the gym I sometimes has conversations with a full-time programmer, so actually he was the one who got me into these new languages.
I never bought any other books to learn myself another programming language. Once knowing the structure it wasn't that hard anymore. Of course a lot of things kept me frustrating, but most of the times I found a solution.

OK. This was kind of my story. I bet I forgot a couple of things, but these are the main lines. I've hoped I didn't wasted too much of your precious time.
Take care people! :)
