If many went to google to find info on the next gen consel heres a scoop.

Nintendo said the web browser you will be useing with the Wii is Opera web browser.

Thats funny how many firefox users won't be abel to use it when it comes out.

I don't know why they chossed Opera it will be forever a mistery.

How would they not be able to use it...somehow I think most firefox users are capable of using a browser that functions almost entirely the same, and has a slightly different skin

Because it's a propertairy browser. Opera's engine is apperantly more suitably geared towards working on the Wii. Besides, seeing as FF is an open-source program it can't be sold as a bundle with anything.

Oh I went on google and found out that there useing the browser becuse the makers of Opera are give them some where between 100.000 dollers to put the browser on the consel.

Anyway, yeah, I need proof that you can't use Firefox with Opera. I would figure money would have to do with why Nintendo would choose Opera, but hey, it's not like they could use Internet Explorer.

Since it's got memory slots capable of holding large volumes of memory I wouldn't doubt against being able to save Flash/Movies/Music/etc... the question would be if you could play them

YEah. One of the reasons DS is getting the opera browser is because of Opera's awesome zoom feature. I mean I think a few other browsers have zoom, but Opera's is by far the best. Plus on the DS, with the browser, you'll be able to stretch it onto both screens. (Think of it as having your monitor stretched double high, but instead of stretching the image, it just doubles what you can see) It's going to be awesome! I wonder how they're going to use it tho... is it going to be a DS card or is it going to be a cartridge like the rumble pak?

I for one am glad theyre putting a browser on the wii, it was such a bitch before making that 3 foot trip from my tv to my computer to look at newgrounds. Now i dont have to! :D
