When comparing the potential for addiction from Alcohol to that of other drugs such as Heroin, Methamphetamines or Cocaine I consider Alcohol to be non-addictive because it cannot cause a state of Euphoria and it does not provide major pain relief.

I hate beer as well...I can only drink it when I'm already too drunk to care.

That's because you are young, and beer is an aquired taste.
you see, as you age things like regular pop, candy, and other overly sweet foods become too sweet for your changing food pallet.

thats why adults can eat coliflower without complaining, and its also why they drink beer.

although the lust for beer usualy begins with peer pressure, as mine did when I was twelve, Through a few years of consumption for the sake of it's magical alcoholic effect the drinker reaches a momment of clairity in which suddenly the beverage becomes the most crisp and delicious beverage on the market.

Some swedish beer I've tried is fucking awesome, I suppose it all depends on the drink, some beer I've had I've only had to get pissed. If you have it sparsly I suppose it can taste pretty shit, but after a few, it doesnt taste so bad.

It takes the edge off.

And some people think it's pretty damn good. For those who hate the flavor, Smirnoff and Mike's Hard Lemonade were made.

I really never understood what the big deal about beer being nasty is.

There is not a beer in this world (besides non-alcoholic cause there is no point) that i will not drink whether it be freezing cold or piss warm,i guess you could say my taste buds are shot but that's the way i've always been for the past 5 years.

when it comes to beer, i think people drink it because they think it is going to make all there problems go away with the buzz the beer gives you (that buzz is determined by the OH lvl in the beer).

nah, i dno, when 'ts a good beer (=belgian beer) the taste really is good, but there's a lot more bad beer(=heineken+any other dutch beer+fosters) then good beer, so you just have to find one you like..

Of course, because an excess intake of anything over a long period of time "forces" the brain to want it more or else negative psychological side effects would occur.

It's just that illegal drugs, alcohol and Tobacco have effects in less quantities than most other consumables.

people like beer becuz its a social thing to do and fun to drink with lots of people. I heard that beer changes in bitterness once yer likein your 20's... but that sounds really stupid now.. I think it kindof tastes good... I stress kind of.. =D

I hate alcohol! it destroys everything! I swear! for millions of abused/neglected kids alcohol is almost always why! My real dad hasnt talked to me in 9 years! he didnt even tell me about the 3 kids he has...! I can't believe ppl in this world.. I already know like 20 friends of mine who are gunna like turn out this way too! it makes me sick! one time I was this party after districts and me and my friends were at a resturant... the resturant ppl gave me and my friends spiked dacoris! I noticed what it was and one of my friends couldnt stop drinking it and she went all funny.. grrr

absoluutley my brother drank and he got kicked out of the house. guys like it because it make them care less about ugly women.

For most people here, i agree, i had just a sip of beer (that was my only taste, EVER) and it tasted very DISGUSTING!

I dont know why people would drink it, but people before me saying how you have to have an acquired taste and stuff, that may be the reason....
