does anyone think that the media is slowly killing everything. Form Celeberitys to the Space program, the media seems to be the leech thats sucking the life out of things. Has anyone noticed that the world news brodcasts only show how many people died if the firefight yesterday or all of the people who've been kidnaped and killed. Not how mand peoples lives were made better, or that "today our soldiers resqued so-and so people from a brutal fate. Or also how they only show 30 min. of the space shuttle launch, ending with the launch when the neat stuff happens after launch. People lose intrest that way. And Celebs! Bah. I know they did it to themselves but do you really need to know that so and so fell down the stairs or that 2 got into a big fight that left one in a hospital, while the media's trying to barge into the hospital trying to get a comment when all he wants to do is rest. Even though i watch the news, read the paper, and listen to it on the radio some times, i don't really trust it. Please express yourselves.

I suppose it's all down to what the top cheeses in the media think we want to hear, on the internet at least we have the freedom to search and investigate whatever news we want information instead of being fed the same old gruel from news channels.

I think we need the media, some of it is very informative and helpful, but if you don't then I suppose at least you have options open to you to investigate your own news.

Umm, bro. Lets say Aunty Margret did get run over by a car. Thats local news, not national. Why? 5k are hit by cars a year. Its tragic yet unavoidable truth. Our soldiers getting killed in Iraq are very much out of the norm and it IS national news.

And anyways, your story is some feel good story. It really affects nothing if Aunty doesnt die. Many many many things are affected if a soldier dies. If we reported every random act of kindness, we would have no time for the real news.
