I've been watching the Tom Baker episodes on UKTV Drama during my dinner breaks from college. I'd forgotten what an excellent episode The Ark in Space was, it's definitely on of my favourites.

Torchwood at some point tonight. It's been a long wait, so I hope it's good.

Looks quite good. 9 o'clock, BBC2.

Also, watched the first half of "Doctor Who and The Silurians". Quality episode, because it's not your standard "ALIENS ARE INVADING, NEVER MIND THE DOCTOR BEAT THEM".

It's looking good so far, I'm struggling to cope with the addition to Jack's past.

Aaw, Ianto is playing hard to get :)

Good episode, rest of the series looks promising.

That poison lip gloss was well stolen from Firefly, though.

I liked it overall, but I think by the end of the series it will probably be one of my least favourite episodes. Next weeks looks too big to be one episode.

Hey hey, it's me again.
In regards to Torchwood, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Jack's new "nemesis" yet. I didn't care for his jacket. Or hair.
I'm glad they still have the hilariously bad "SEXUAL AMBIGUITY ENSUES THUS" scenes though. Those crack me up.

As soon as someone mentioned the 10 minute countdown, Ianto couldn't get his stopatch out quick enough, could he?

I liked Torchwood a lot more last night. No elaboration.

Torchwood was poorer than last weeks. Not unwatchable, but certainly not good. Hope the series picks up again.

I quite like the way that Ianto has developed. He's a lot more cocksure in this series. Personally, I think he's carrying the series (maybe with the exception of Jack) though why did they have to save Gwen's life? She should have jumped into the rift last week, with the bomb!

I think that while the aliens are struggling, it is still watchable and not because my internet was down last night, either!

Wasn't really paying attention to the last episode. Something about alien people with sword-arms.

Torchwood this week was better than last, but not as good as it has been in the past. The trailer for next week looks promising, though.

Can we discuss Torchwood here? I know it's not really Doctor Who but it's as close as we can get.

Yeah, we do. Although there's not been much worth mentioning this series.

Probably the most recent big Torchwood/Doctor Who thing. Is that Jack Harnees is The Face of Boe.
Is there a date when the new Doctor Who series will be released?

Thought you LOOSERS might appreciate this: The mens toilets in my local. Amazingly enough, it's a lot bigger than a telephone box inside, too.

That's so awesome. I wish I lived in an area were there were crazy themes to the village/city.

Watched The Time Meddler. Great episode, as are all of the Hartnell ones I've seen. I prefer them over post-Pertwee stuff, because each episode has it's own story, rather than the standard Doctor arrives/Doctor is accused of causing problem/Doctor is proved to not be causing problem/Doctor solves problem format that's been used in basically every episode since Tom Baker's era.

The monk made that episode great.

A lot of Hartnell's stuff is like how you described though. That episode was just a nice break from the norm (And it ought to be being the final of the season).

Apart from An Unearthly child, the rest I've seen haven't been.

But glancing over at my DVD shelf, at least half of the Tom Baker episodes fit the description.

Also, I just noticed I've not watched Warriors of the Deep yet. I'd totally forgotten about it. I'll give that a watch tomorrow.

Hmmm actually on second thought his serials aren't so much as you described. I just remembered him getting caught and locked up all the time then fixing their problem. And also I just recently watched The Ark which had a similar story line where the Doctor introduced a problem then fixed it and left.
