And the clocks in The Girl In The Fireplace. They only had a few lines, and they weren't technically bad guys, just doing their job.

Well that's the trick. The less information, the better the antagonist. But not too much time spent on figuring "what the fuck is this".

ains.

Fangirls like Tennant and rubbish romance, not villains. I'm still waiting for the Silurians to be done properly, since they were pretty ace in their first serial, and then just went downhill from there, but I think Moffat could handle the argument about who actually has the right to own the Earth that came up in the first episode better than most.

Oh them, I've only ever seen them in a Doctor Who parody on Dead Ringers.

Apparently you can see a TARDIS while Starbug is taking off in an episode of Red Dwarf. I remember watching the bit was supposed to be in for ages and never being able to spot it.

DVD and frame advance helps.

Yeah, but you don't want them in every episode. You need some megalomaniacs and lunatics, too.

Oh them, I've only ever seen them in a Doctor Who parody on Dead Ringers.

Go watch "Doctor Who and the Silurians", one of two serials that cocks up established canon by referring to the character as "Doctor Who", the other being "The War Machines" in which the computer keeps saying "Doctor Who is required".

DVD and frame advance helps.

I tried.

Hey! did you see the episode BLINK?. The villains are weeping angels that freeze solid when you look at them, but when you LOOK AWAY, BLINK, just for a second they could get you. THEY ARE FAST!. In the episode, a guy was in a abandoned house looking at a weeping angel 10 ft away then he blinked and it was 10 in away with its face and its fangs, right.....next....to........him! They kill you by sending you back in time enough to kill you before you live to the present, and feed off of the life you could of had. (If you weren't one of there victims!)

-Don't you think Doctor Who filler episodes always have creepy bad guys,
Example: The weeping angels, the french clock machines, the man infected by the sun, the living scarecrows. CREEPY, DON'T YOU THINK?

The series DVD is only £28 from Play.com at the minute. Tempting, since the cheapest I've seen it anywhere else is like £50, but I think even £28 is too much for 13 episodes, of which only 3 or 4 are worth watching.

I won't watch anything with Eggleston anyway.

I didn't like him at all.

I don't know, something about him was just kid of... not-doctorish.

I like him better than Tennant. Much less whiny, and he doesn't cry at the end of every episode.

I much preferred Eccleston. He was more convincingly angry than Tennant ever has been, and he was still able to do happy convincingly too. And I love the bit in his last episode when he tricks Rose into going home.

Eccleston is just a better actor in general, really. He's been in plenty of films, and he's done ace TV work since Doctor Who, like Heroes, too. Apart from Doctor Who, what's Tennant been in? Rab C Nesbitt as a transvestite barman?

LEUTENANT is probably still on series 3 and not watched the fourth batch and yeah the Moffat episodes have been classics.
I just finished watching the "The Keys of Marinus" serial and thought it was pretty neat.

That's one of the 3 complete Hartnell serials I've not seen, the others being The Sensorites and The Gunfighters.

I might watch The War Games tomorrow. Had it downloaded for ages, not got around to watching it.

He was also in that crap "period drama2 about casanova I think, where he played a womanising arsehole who kept forgeting he had a son in what I think where supposed to be hilarious whats he like, hes a bit of character in he moments. written and produced by RTD. It also had Fatt Lucas as some kind of Fatt ultra gay Clown, even worse then his little Britain sketches.

On one of the confidentials (yes I watch them even if the episodes shit so what?) RTD said they asked him if he wanted to be the Doctor on the last day of production.

Sci-Fi channel marathon this weekend. Revenge of the Cybermen, Ark in Space, Pyramids of Mars and Face of Evil have been on today. Recorded Face of Evil, because I'd already seen the rest. More on tomorrow.

Watched The Face of Evil. Excellent serial, one of the best Tom Baker ones I've seen. Plot deep enough for you not to guess the ending during the first part, which is a problem with a lot from that era, and there's plenty of humour in it, too. Nothing side splitting or anything, but little things like The Doctor telling Leela to never be certain of anything in part one, and then having an almost identical exchange in part 2 where he compliments her for being certain of something.

The way Leela ends up travelling with him is definitely one of the better ways, too. He refuses to take her, so she just runs into the TARDIS, and the Doctor follows her and is like "GET OUT OF THERE! GET OUT! NO, DON'T TOUCH THAT!" and then it dematerialises, and the episode ends.

I've been watching as much of the Episodes from the classic series as I can and I think now I've seen all the pertwee, baker and davisons ones aswells as most of the troughtons and some of Hartnells too and I have finally devised a list of my fave classic episodes so far and my fave story arcs:

Fave episodes

1.The Caves of Androzani: Part 3 (Davison)
2.The Caves of Androzani: Part 4
3.The Caves of Androzani: Part 2
4. Earthshock: Part 4 (Davison)
5. The Talons of Weng-Chiang: Part 2 (Baker)
6. The Talons of Weng-Chiang: Part 3
7. The Talons of Weng-Chiang: Part 6
8. Earthshock: Part 3
9. Genesis of the Daleks: Part 6 (Baker)
10.The Caves of Androzani: Part 1

Fave Story Arcs

1. The Caves of Androzani (Davison)
2. The Talons of Weng-Chiang (Baker)
3. Genesis of The Daleks (Baker)
4. Earthshock (Davison)
5. Pyramids of Mars (Baker)
6. The Robots of Death (Baker)
7. Power of The daleks (Partrick Troughton)
8. City of Death (Baker)
9. The Visitation (Davison)
10. Spearhead from space (Pertwee)

That done, but there are still many singular episodes which I loved buts other episodes were worse and my story arch choices are best on most consistently great throughout the episodes. I definiteley enjoyed the Davison episodes but I still though he was one of the worse doctors. My favourite of the classic series being Baker, then Pertwee, then troughton then Hartnell then davison and I haven't seen enough of C.Baker and Mcoy to rate them.

Did you watch reconstructions, or have you somehow got the actual episodes? Because it's a huge deal if you have actually found them somewhere, they're all supposed to be missing.

Hi, everybody. I haven't seen much of Doctor Who (although I do enjoy what I've seen). I just came here to show off my attempt to make a Dalek in Spore.

Read my story, "The Free Man." It's got furries, philosophy, and romance!

Troughton is probably my favourite era of the show, anyway. He's not the best Doctor, but his story style is definitely the best. Jamie and Zoe are pretty much the perfect companion pair. One from the past, one from the future. Way more interesting than having them all come from 20th/21st century London.

I can't really say my best story era from the classic series coz there are alot of Hartnell and troughton episodes that I haven't seen but on averqage consistency i would rate the Peter Davison stories 1st, Tom baker stories 2nd, jon Pertwee stories 3rd, Patrick Troughton stories 4th, Colin Baker stories 5th, Sylvester mcoy stories 6th and I can't really rate Hartnell because I haven't seen alot of season 3 and I haven't seen alot of season 4 or much of season 5 either.

Watched parts 1-5 of The War Games, going to watch the last 5 tomorrow. It's okay, sort of disappointing that it's not up to the standard of some other Troughton stuff, but it's not bad. At least it doesn't drag on like a lot of the longer serials do.
