It's the Sun, so believe as much as you like.

Basically:
BBC offering Tennant £1,500,000 to stay on for season 5.
Nothing finalized yet, might still be leaving.
Jenny back for one of the specials.

I would expect him to stay on for series 5 just so Moffat could expand the whole Riversong story. DT definitely won't make it to series 6 though.

I really doubt that'll be picked up again. He finished the story in the episode, we know how it turns out. It'll never be mentioned again, and we're to assume it happened off-screen.

Hmmm yeah I suppose that would make sense. I guess there'll be a big gap between next year's specials where the whole Riversong thing would be assumed to fit in.

I would be surprised if it wasn't touched on in at least one episode though. Like how they first met (from Song's point of view). I think it'd make an alright one off special since the Doctor is in need of a companion now. Sort of like how Astrid filled the gap during voyage of the damned.

I still can't see it happening. I think it would spoil it a bit, seeing her again. It was rounded off quite nicely, it would just feel unnecessary.

It would be weird with the fact that she's already been written out of the series into her future. It would make any story with her seem a bit pointless.
Though I would like to know how they met, still...

You know what you wanna do with that, right? You wanna put a banging donk on it!

a countdown of my favourite doctor who episodes since the restart in 2005 are the following:
1.Blink
2. forest of the dead
3. Doomsday
4. family of blood
5. the girl in the fireplace
6. the empty child
7. the stolen earth
8. the parting of the ways
9. silence in the library
10. dalek

and the worst....(although there are only a few bad doctor who episodes)

1. fear her (mindless drivel)
2.Love and monsters (more eastenders than doctor who)
3. the lazarus experiment ( terrible storyline and just extremeley forgettable)
4. the idiots lantern ( also extremeley forgettable and the dullest doctor who episode of all time)
5. evolution of the daleks (completeley destroys everything good about a dalek)

well thats my list. feel free to comment as you like.

20: Turn the music down.

I really like the music but it does get overused on occasion.

19: Take the bullet-time out of the title-sequence.

Doesn't bother me. I rather like it actually.

18: Stop dicking around with the title sequence.

Didn't really notice...I know it's a more orchestral sound now which is probably for the best. Both versions are pretty good in my opinion.

17: Stop templating good ideas.

Templating? I guess he means overusing ideas. I haven't noticed apart from the usual doctor who trademarks.

16: Tell Tennant to STOP SHOUTING!

OoooooH YES!
Actually no. I like the enthusiasm.

15: Don't bring Billie Piper back.

Yeah she never should have come back no matter how much people liked her. Just another unnecessary character shoved into an already crowded cast for the finale.

14: If Donna's off, bring back Martha.

Or if not her a new companion. Martha seems two dimensional to me. She kind of needs more put into her character.

13: Bring back the Brig.

Well I haven't seen any of his episodes from the classic series but if he's as good as people say, why not?

12: Show an entry into the TARDIS from the outside world.

Hasn't this been done?

11: Lose the sonic screwdriver

It's good for advancing the story such as passing locked doors. If only it had a few less features so it couldn't get the doctor out of EVERY problem.

10: And the psychic paper too.

Meh gets the story moving. They have a lot of shove into 45 minutes. Better not spent watching the doctor argue why he should be there.

9: Don't ever tell us what the Doctor's name really is.

Hmmm it's something we all want to know but once we find out we would all probably have wished we had never known. Yeah best they never say.

8: Keep Tennant on for all of series 5.

Yeah, one more season.

7: Give 'Jenny' her own show.

Do we need another spin-off? I suppose I'd rather watch Jenny exploring alien worlds in the future than the 100 year old Sarah-Jane exploring modern day earth with a bunch of kids.

6: Don't ever go back to the twenties.

It isn't that bad.

5: Skip the Daleks for an entire season. At least.

Agree.

4: Do something decent with the Master.

LOL. Yeah, just make a good episode.

3: Bring back the multi-part episodes.

Yeah they really should. It seems they rush through the story a lot of the time. Makes it hard to connect with the secondary characters.

2: Slow the pace down

Yeah. Didn't I just answer this one?

1: Make Steven Moffat executive producer

YAY

Regarding that list, I agree with pretty much all of it, APART from the psychic paper. Every single classic series episode has at least one part where The Doctor is accused of causing whatever problem the villain is behind, and has to prove it isn't him. There isn't time to do that properly in 45 minutes, so the psychic paper gets it out of the way quite nicely.

I'd have to agree. The psychic paper's actually something that makes me smile most of the time they bring it out. Plus it's either that or have the Doctor screwdriver the back door to get in anywhere.

Failgrounds.

My main hope for the 5th series is that Moffat creates some really memorable monsters that could math the creative genious of the classic series. Russel T Davies seemed to have problems with monsters and all he could do was bring back the classics,(daleks, cybermen, the master, sontarans). For me the best new monster is the Ood but they still lack that menace that the classics have. Others introduced inthe new series are the slitheen and i'd rather not talk about them. all the Steven Moffat monsters are superb although they dont fit as classic doctor who villians.
If Moffat can sort this dilemma out, then I can truly say that the 5th series should hopefully be the best yet thanks to his writing genius and a great actor.

Writers have been revealed for the specials. Unfortunately, RTD has in a hand in all of them. Writing two by himself, one with Gareth Roberts, who did "The Shakespeare Code" and "Unicorn and the Wasp", and Phil Ford who did "Something Borrowed" from Torchwood, and a few Sarah Jane Adventures episodes.

Shaping up to be pretty shit, then. The only episode any of them have done that was any good was Something Borrowed, and even that wasn't brilliant.

Actually, Gareth Roberts episodes are all OK and RTD has done loads of good episodes like doomsday, parting of the ways the master episodes, midnight and so on.....

Shakespeare Code was watchable, at best, and Unicorn and the Wasp was shit.

Not a good episode. New Cybermen are shit.

parting of the ways

Yeah, that was alright. Better than the second part, anyway.

the master episodes,

Utopia was excellent, because Derek Jacobi was. The last 2 episodes were poor. The ending was horrifically bad, too.

midnight and so on.....

Midnight was probably the worst episode of season 4, and that's saying a lot when you had the likes of Partners in Crime in it.

Unicorn and the wasp was the funniest episode of season 4 and not shit.

The new cybermen look fine to me. Doomsday was the best of season 2 although the ending did drag on.

Yes, I agree Utopia was excellent. The sound of drums was too though. It was last of the time lords that made it seem shit.
midnight and so on.....

Partners in crime was the worst episode of season 4. midnights first 15 minutes were some of the poorest doctor whos ever seen but once the banging on the wall started the tension really started to kick in and from then on it just got better and better although I can imagine people being unsastified with the ending.

It's was predictable and very, very poorly written. Davies' dialogue is awful, and with so little going on he had to rely on, and the episode just falls apart.

Trial of a Time Lord is a whole season, not just an episode. 4 serials for just under £40. Not bad, really.

Then you are lost.

You will find a firearm to your immediate left, please put the barrel in your mouth and squeeze the trigger. You may feel a slight stinging sensation. But it will equate to the amount of retardation you have displayed. (for example, liking Torchwood over Doctor Who will cause death)
