The Great Newgrounds War (story)

This is an on-going story about the Great Newgrounds war in the future. This is only the first chapter but I'm sure I'll make more.

Chapter 1

“I can’t recall a time when there was peace on the Internet. When the World Wide Web was a place where you could have fun, ha, that was just a fleeting memory of years ago. Before the Internet introduced this Virtual Reality System that allows you to go into the Internet and talk with people up close… to kill people up close.”

“My name is BatDan, and the year is 2011. We are in the middle of Newgrounds / eBaum war. We’re allied with those that hate eBaum for what he’s done in the past. But what he did in 2007 is what triggered a war that shows no end.”

“In late 2006 around the holidays, sites that get a lot of traffic were introduced to a Virtual Reality System. You can guess which sites got the system.”

Flashback to 2007, ebaumsworld.com announcement chamber.

“Dude, did you see that new cartoon with the dancing banana?” says an eBaum fan. “I did but Newgrounds stole it” said the other eBaum fan.

“ATTENTION! ATTENTION EBAUMERS! I have an announcement to make” said Vice-President of eBaumsworld Neil Bauman (father to Eric, the creator and president). “Today is a great day for eBaumsworld Incorporated as we are going to buy multiple websites that will surely rake in the traffic. How did we get the money? From the ads of showing our legally obtained content of course.”

Meanwhile from a distance, a member of eBaumsworld (they’re distinctive through the Watermark shirt) is preparing a sniper rifle.

Neil continues with his speech “We made multiple deals with corporations in order to buy these websites. The following websites we are sure to be buying are ‘Gaia, Myspace, Runescape, and Neopets.’ The following websites we’re trying to convince are ‘AlbinoBlackSheep, SomethingAwful, YTMND, and Newgrounds.’ Thank you for your time, and once the purchase is complete; we will have more space to roam aro…

Before he could finish his sentence a gunshot is heard and everyone looks around for the source. Until someone yells “LOOK!” and everyone sees Neil with a gunshot wound through the head. His brains all over the wall showing that he is indeed dead in eBaumsworld (meaning I.P. banned).

They find the source and it shows an eBaums member with a rifle pointed at Neil. “Let’s get him with our Watermarks!” screamed an idiotic fan. “What are watermarks going to do to me?” the killer asked himself. Suddenly the eBaumers take out their watermarks like swords and start chasing the assailant. The assailant starts running but before he does someone grabs his shirt. He runs off and the eBaum shirt rips off revealing a tank, a Newgrounds tank to be precise on his shirt.

“NEWGROUNDS!” yelled the eBaumers. They continue to chase him until they reach neutral.com where the eBaumers scurry off like mice back to their home.

The killer finally reaches Newgrounds and does a retinal scan. “Thank you, welcome back… BananaBreadMuffin”.

He runs quickly through the streets, past Blam Theater and into the Admin office where Wade is listening to the radio. “WHERE’S TOM?” BBM asks in desperation. Wade nonchalantly responds “At neutral.com” then worried he asks “Why?” BBM says “Tom was right about eBaum starting some serious shit. I think we’re all in trouble.”

I enjoyed it. It was kind of weird though how BBM did it, because he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to kill. He seems more laid back. But he is popular. ANyways, great story, and can't wait to see the next. :D

Thanks for all the positive response. Here's Chapter 2.

Chapter 2

“What serious shit is Tom referring to?” Wade asked. BBM stood up and started explaining “Two weeks ago, Tom was hearing that Bauman was up to more then theft. He heard something about land mass and corporate takeover. So he assigned me to the job of finding out what they were planning. I disguised myself as an eBaumer for two weeks, until Neil made an announcement.”

“What announcement?” Wade asked worried. BBM replied “He said that he was buying multiple websites and plans of buying multiple websites. Among them was Newgrounds. I then killed Neil and ran like hell to get back here.” Wade now knowing the situation prepares to alert the public.

“NO!” a voice from the darkness yells in confidence. Out of the shadows of the room comes BatDan. “I read Tom’s plans before he left. They said he was going to neutal.com with April for a dinner party.” Wade asks “Why are you in here?” BBM interrupts “Did it say who was hosting the dinner party?” BatDan responds “No, it just said “Dinner Party at 7:00 PM Web Time.” Wade asks again “Why are you in here?” BatDan replies “I’m bored. But that’s not the point, Tom may be falling into a trap, and we have to save him.”

Wade stands up and proclaims “You’ll lead BatDan, I’ll give you 4 mods and 5 regulars to help you.” BatDan asks “Why me?” Wade then takes a picture of his new computer and says “OH SNAP!” he then responds to me “You know where the Dinner Party is in neutral.com right? Well, you’ll have to lead then.

After a half hour briefing and equipping of heavy weaponry, BatDan, subpar, BBM, Maus, tigerkitty, BonusStage, bigbadron, HAcoreRD, Zerok, and Dobio all set out towards neutral.com. “What exactly is neutral.com?” asked HAcoreRD. subpar looks at him oddly and says “You know perfectly well what neutral.com is.” HAcoreRD slyly responds “Our readers don’t.” BatDan quickly interrupts saying “You’re breaking the fourth wall, but what the hell. I’ll explain anyway.”

neutral.com is the biggest but most dangerous VR website. It’s used for say a Newgrounds member wants to talk with a 4chan member. The problem is if you get “killed” in neutral.com then you lose your VR internet connection for five months. Not as bad as an I.P. ban but the creators of the site don’t like I.P bans for some reason.

Maus asks “Why is it dangerous, I’ve been to neutral.com a lot and I don’t see what’s so dangerous about it?” BatDan looks ahead and says “We’re about to approach a dangerous area of neutral.com.” Everyone looks up and sees that this area of the site looks like something out of a Mad Max movie. Zerok in awe whispers “Holy shit. I’ve never been to this part. How do you know Tom is here?”

“neutral.com is divided into sections; the address said they were in Section 32B. Right now we’re in 1B but the sections are pretty short so we’ll reach Tom in about 15 minutes.”
After 15 minutes of avoiding gunshots from drive-bys and firing back at their tires, they reach Section 32B were they find a strange scene. A building that looks well-preserved amongst piles of rubble, along it are Web Cars and Jets.

BatDan points ahead “That’s are spot, we’ll move in and strike at the opportune moment.

The team moves in and looks inside and finds… a well organized dinner party, with pianos, caviar, and chandeliers. BonusStage looks in and asks “Can’t we kill all the snobs now?” But BBM stops him and shows him that Tom is inside with April talking with the creator of 4chan.

bigbadron looks in and says “Something is seriously wrong here.”

End Chapter 2.

I know this chapter is short but my creative juices were running low but I'm sure they'll kick back up in due time.

Chapter 3

Ten minutes pass by with nothing but conversation and eating going on. That’s when a bell rings and the guests look towards the source of the sound. “Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re proud to honor you our esteemed guests.” Applause comes from the audience. “And now, for your host of the evening, the ever-so-powerful… ERIC BAUMAN!”

“WHAT?” screamed the audience.

“Who seriously saw that coming?” asked tigerkitty. Everyone raised their hands. BatDan says “Let’s just see what Eric is up to.”

“Good Evening money… I mean everyone. I hope you’ve enjoyed yourselves. Because soon… ALL YOUR WEBSITES ARE BELONG TO ME!” Tom retorts “Oh, please Eric. What can you possibly do to get Newgrounds?” Eric smiles and snaps his fingers. Out come a bunch of guards dressed in watermark holding guns. “Now sell me your websites or it’s over for you.”

Max Goldberg of YTMND steps up and says “I don’t care what you do; you’ll never get YTMN…” Max is then shot in the head and loses his VR connection for five months. Syncan runs up to Eric but only gets shot multiple times thus losing five months himself. “HA! YTMND is mine!”

That’s the cue for our team to enter “EVERYONE GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR!” Everyone starts screaming and ducks as the eBaumer guards start firing. The team ducks and fires back plucking off guards. Tom ducks and rolls to BBM and asks “Wade tell you to come here?” BBM responds “Yeah, but BatDan is leading.” He gives Tom a gun so he could assist.

After two minutes of gun play, the guards are all gone for five months and only Zerok is wounded but will come back in a week. Tom looks around “April?” Then laughter is heard from the ceiling and Eric has captured April. “NO!” Tom screams in terror. He breaks the glass ceiling and gets on a helicopter. “Well Tom, if you want to see her again. GIVE ME NEWGROUNDS!” He laughs as he flies off.

Tom gets on his knees knowing that he lost his fiancée. “This means war eBaum. This. Means. War.
