I've never seen a commercial saying the iPod was crap. I have an iPod and love it.

Neither of mine did. You'd have to be pretty violent to break an iPod.

I dislike iPods, because people buy them just to be In the 'In crowd'. They scratch stupidly easily, and Apple could easily do something to fix that.

I have a 20gig iPod (no video). And it's great. Layout, design, controls are all easy and accesible, iTunes is great for music when your on the computer (I use it 24/7) and the audio is really clear, and is easy to transer music onto it... The only problem with them is that they break really easily...This is my fourth one. But if you have a warrantee (sp?) they just send you new ones.

i dont like Ipods particularly much, Creative zen is quite good 20 gig, £200 i think, does the job, i'm just sticking to my regular MP3 with 512MB. What difference does it make, half the songs on people Ipods and Zens they dont even listen to half the time.

my ipod photo always froze and now its broken because its always toggled on hold even though it shows its toggled on unhold. i want to get a new mp3 player, i wanna get an Archos.
either Archos AV500
or Archos AV700
but they're expensive as hell
ipods break easy so don't pay $300 for them

They don't really seem much different to any other MP3 player
whatever faults it has, it's still a decent MP3 player and i think it's good. Nano's are quite nice
I hardly ever come here anymore....

AV700 has only 320x240 screen quality on a 7 inch screen. So videos look like crap on it...

They might look deadly, but by God, if you get to know one you're in a ruff ride. Mine broke my leg the first time I put it in my pocket! And then it shot me for trying to turn it off!
But seriously, iPods are the MP3 player to get. They have the biggest capacity.

iPods actually don't break too easily, but they do feel very fragile. The only problems I've had with iPods is that it's very limited codec support, total lack of key features, and higher price. iPods aren't a bad product if you're looking for something that's easy to use, but there are a lot of players that're better.
I highly recommend looking towards Zen Micro Photos or Vision:M. Micro Photos have 4GB and 8GB capacities which retail for $130 and $180, much better deal than the nano. Vision:M is a 30GB player which is pretty much like the iPod video, but with better quality screen, more features, and more codec support.

I've seen it in person and the video quality does look grainy and on-par with VCR quality. It's heavy as hell and the controls are small. The AV500 is much better.
