To the mostly Christian people out there. What's so bad about this? So what if we die we all go to a better place right? This also pretty much goes out to all those scaredy cats out there. Just live and if you die o fucking well!

Why Christians don't wake up out of the dream world and realize that when we die we just rot in the ground and become fertilizer is beyond me. The thought of going to a nice place forever is good for calming fears of death, but come on, grow up.

I personally don’t see anything to fear about death. I feel that when we die, that’s it, game over, no bonus round or palace in the sky. What’s so bad about not existing anymore? It’s not like you’ll notice. This line of thinking has made me live life the way I want to and experience the world to it’s fullest. I am confident that if I can continue to do this I will die with no regrets and no fear. I will gracefully take my final bow, thank everyone for the lovely experience that is life and leave with dignity.

It's the godless people like us that really have life down. Make the most out of it, because there's no coming back to make up for what you missed.

I dont fear death, I slightly fear the actual process of dying, but I dont fear death.
As for the afterlife, i have a few theories that i've come up with, we may have a spirit or we may just cease to exist, guess i'll find out if any of them are right when the day comes.

I'll tell you why.
No one is going to listen to your stupid ass and turn athiest because you say some dumb shit. Plus you seem like a dumb asshole anyway.
If people have beleifs, then they will obviously beleive in them. You saying some stupid shit isn't going to change how people are.

When I die, fine. I'll just see what comes out the holes, and be it hell, heaven, nothing, or whatever the hell it is, fine. I don't really care one way or another. I mean, how bad could it get?

Alright, listen. I'm a devout atheist, and I'm going to tell you that this is not the way to go about an intelligent debate. This shames the actual atheists. If you're going to put up a portion of this debate, at least act like a decent human being.

people do not fear the actual death itself, but more the things they will not witness because of their death. Probably, that's why people do not like the idea of dying young, because there's so much they haven't done yet.
Personally, I'm not afraid of dying. I have lived as far as this, made love, lost love.
If I die tomorrow, that's bad luck for me and maybe for people around me.
About the whole religion thing, people need to believe in an afterlife. Only because that is the only way that they can deny the thought of not being able to expriece things. In heaven (or whatever) they can "go on" with what they were doing. They won't have to stop experiencing.

Death is only the final stage of life. There is no reason to fear it. In fact, Hindus welcome death as an opportunity for promotion in their Caste System.

Death should not be feared to the least bit whether you have a religion or none. If you do, you have your answer to death (belive in it for comfort). If you don't have one, come up with your own thing. If I rot and nothing happens, I can't stop it. Which only encourages that you should live life to the fullest.

I find it sad that every religious debate HAS to turn into a flame war.
Still, how very ironic that it ends up with the atheists fighting each other.

I can honestly say that if you need there to be an afterlife for you to sleep well at night then you are probably doing something wrong. I mean, yes, perhaps consciousness ends at death making our role in the cosmic ballet laughably short and maybe some being didn't decide that we would be the only true constant in the universe. So what? That doesn't mean that life is meaningless. Even if you won't know it after you die you probably touched at least one persons life positively, unless you lived in a cave your whole life. If you can't be happy with that and you just did things to earn a place in the afterlife then you're probably too selfish to deserve to live in the first place. And doesn't the idea that our existence is more limited than most would like to think make life that more precious and exhilarating? I know I get a rush whenever I take some stupid risk and don't die. The realization that there probably isn't anything for us after this world has made me want to live life to the fullest and hate everyone who cops out and just says "Well, it's fine if I suffer, the next life will be better." or "Oh, if I (insert totally legal yet almost questionable and almost certainly fun thing here) I might not get into the next life.". That kind of thinking makes me sick.

I've always said, that I can't imagine living my life now forever. So heaven must a really great. The thought of living eternally kind of scares me.

Ok. you say people are feard to die? -that's propebly true. But i only mean by instict. ..You know, if someone throw you white a ball. you rise your had to stop it, even before you relise what's going on.
Soo... that way peolpe are afraid to die.
If you ask me am i scared to die, i'll say no.
Because, if there is a "meaning" of life. Then it's kind of goal of life, right?
So, does that mean that you have to reach that goal for something. and if you do, you are redy to die??
By my selfe i think that the mos importend in life is to live how you like. But by sosialist way: "do not think what the country can give to you. Think what you can give to country!!"

It stands for JESUS!!!!! Lol, just kidding. It is actually the only part of my screen name that is the same as my real name. J stands for Jarrett. The rest of my name I will keep anonymous for the time being. I will say this however, Spike J. Wolfwood has the same number of letters as my actual name.

There more than two atheists in here. Single out the ones you have the problem with so you don’t end up giving them all a bad name.
Plus, they haven’t posted in like two days.

I can count a few, but I don't know how active they are besides Wolfwood and I.
