Ok, so I have:
-A guitar (DUH)
-An amp
-A jack connection that goes from the amp to my pc (line in)

The problem:
The fucking quality! It sounds almost like just blowing into a microphone! Now I'd need an alternative way of recording stuff. I would like to keep the amp in the system because I need it for effects and stuff...

you need to get a good quality soundcard, either that or you have plugged it into the wrong port.

You need a good soundcard (try getting one that IS for audio recordings)
You should get a guitar port or pod for homerecodings (good quality for the sound and you don't bug the family). :D

I use guitar rig now...thats just a program but the sounds and possibilities are nearly endless. :D

thanks. I "used" my 30 W line 6 amp for my previous recordings but as I said before I use guitar rig now and I don't mic. my amp anymore (thank god thats over)...I don't submitted a new tune with my new sound but I will in the next time. :)

For the drums I use acoustica beatcraft. I have a soundcard that is for audio recordings and I also got a little mixer. My editorprogram is cubase SX (cause it rulz) :D

Drop me a mail or pm if you want some more tips.

if you have your amp's line-out to your soundcard's line-in then it should be fine. just turn the volume down on your amp. i myself record with with my 100 wat head hooked up that way. and the only time i have problems in when i have my amp turned up too loud and i get a rumble from the lows bein' up too high.

also make sure that your computer monitor and all tvs and radios are off as they'll give unwanted hums and hisses.

What cable did you use? The normal jack? Because the quality is still pretty low...

i used a guitar chord form the line-out (preamp-out) hooked a 1/4" - 1/8" jack adapter on the other end, and plugged it into my line-in on my soundcard.

then mess with your eq settings.

low - 5
mid - 2.5
high - 10

then tweak from there and keep the volume around 2.

yeah you need to kep gain/volume really low, otherwise it'll get really crappy, the best thing to use would still be a preamp.

\" \ " / "/ - Xenovora - my best song yet

Hmm that seems like a good idea, I'll try that today.
