With this redesign and stuff people seem to say all this problems with everything will get fixed, but I got an idea, how about having "Audio admins", with the full control of changing and altering settings at the audio portal, since the admins seem to have no time doing anything with the Audio Portal.
I think if we did so the problems could have been fixed much easier.
What do you think of the idea?

A small discussion of the non-loop AP seem to have breaken out, I would just like to refer to my posts on the first page.
Basicly, my point is that loops should be more incouraged making (awards etc.) and that if the AP could get focused a little bit more on loops, that is what would make it unique against other music sites out there.

i dotn know if thsi has been discussed
but people should get experience points for voting on audio submissions
also a blam/protect system should be set up to keep the crap out of the audio portal.

Hmm, I've seen other websites where when you hover over an image a drop down list of links is displayed below.
What would be the best way of using this? I was thinking maybe have a few songs (or flash) displayed while hovering over an artists name. Or when hovering over a songs name (in charts) allow voting instead of having to goto that users full list of songs.
Sometimes that's why I don't vote. I just want to browse the top rated songs in a genre.

The possibility to favo Audio artists.
To have an Audio Portal Top 50, to see when you have answers at reviews you gave and to see when someone reviewed your Audio.

just gimma a friggen review notification saying WHICH new song i have reviews for - like that giant list of songs it shows you in your respond to your reviews part of your profile - just put a little "new" thingie beside the ones that are new or something - or auto weekly pm bot notifications could be helpful too.

I was thinking of types of genres. Like "Trance" for example. the under it would be ""sub" genres that would be under that type. like "Genre" - Trance - Proggressive. OR, "Genre" - Trance - Melodic.
To be more specific on genres.

Kill zero voters...
oh, and being able to update songs would be nice. You can do it for flash cartoons, so why not audio submissions?

*raises hand*
Solus has an idea to help stop zerovoting...
allow audio voting privileges to only those accounts that are more than a week old. It'll also help stop mass alt upvoting, because you'd have to wait a week to use your alt to downvote someone or improve the scores of your own songs.

Along with the "Genre" we select, there should be a "Mood" too... IMO

Huh? Nobody's posted on this thread in a week? It just shows how much we care about the portal. =P Here's my suggestion, which I've put a lot of thought into - I hope you all appreciate it. =)
My suggestion is what I think is a great idea: customizable reviews. See, everyone reviews differently and looks for different things - I, for example, look at melodies, harmonies, percussion, sound choice, attitude/atmosphere, and the song overall. What I think could happen is that there would be six 'subratings' where Originality, Clarity, Diversity, and Effort could be. Four would be filled with the previously mentioned defaults, and two would be left blank. The reviewer could replace any of the four with their own 'subratings' and add their own if they so wish. They would even be able to set their own defaults on the account options page, so they don't have to reenter them every time.
This would definitely increase the diversity of reviews, and the better reviewers would get more reviews asking for a review from them, because their unique style of reviewing is especially appreciated/popular/wanted/etc. Overall it would definitely increase the importance of reviewing here at the Audio Portal.
Actually, it could even be applied to the Flash Portal, as well...

It just shows how much we care about the portal.
Again, I was going to say something long and mean. But I found it to be not worth it because it's a suggestion.
=P
Right, disarming smiley.
The rest wasn't bad idea, I could see it working with less analities.

Hello my friends, i have recently been thinking of a thoughtful idea for the newgrounds audio portal. Allowing peaple that aren't logged on to vote (Including non-Ng members) why? Usually are hard work has been downvoted mostly by people who i call "Arseholes". Our work is usually downrated by people who rate our music unfairly just because it's not their taste of music, or because of the title, or maybe for the heck of it! If we allow non-NG members to vote our music. They would probably rate it fairly (Since they're not of competition to be the best of the Ng audio portal), but what if they would be to rate it a 0/5 like the other unfair raters? Well let's see, if you rate a song logged on the rating of the song will go down by the Voting Power the rater has. If you rate logged off, or not as a ng member, it will only go down slightly, or it will increase slightly. So those people can download our music, but also rate it by their freewill. If some of you don't know i live in Iran, and take english classes for next four years i will be heading to america for a future career. Thankyou for reading now i must get back to my homework. May Allah be with you :)

Hmm. I don't quite think that would work - because if you didn't need an account to vote, then scoring would be all even worse because of all the people who could vote and who would 0 vote random songs or 5 vote their friends' songs because of an unreasonable bias or for no reason at all whatsoever. I think it could be a good idea, but their voting power would have to be significantly diminished. Something like half or one quarter of a normal vote.

Imagine all the zero voters.
They wont be called zero voters.
They'll be called massacre blammers.
Imagine having every and any piece of music you submit blammed at it's very conception.
Good idea still?

Why not just use the seven-number ranking that vgmix is using? It's psychologically more accurate for us--something about polarity of choice between 1-5 is much higher than between 1-7. It's easier for us to find a midpoint of 1-7 than 1-5 (in other words, people wont just vote 0 or 5.)

Polarity?
Moron number one doesnt zero vote a song because the number appeals to him, it's because he hates the piece of trash and wants it off the charts.
Merely increasing the scale would make zero voters a little more anal.

dont know if this has been suggested yet, but a flash application sort of like NGAP Radio would be cool. only have it be bigger, and look like a hybrid between the flash portal, and iTunes. So you would have all of your personal playlists on the left column that would save to your cookies. and then there would be three columns in the main area for browsing all the top music, and most recently submitted music. and then if you were to click on something all the info would appear along the top with a timeline, player controls, and an option to vote and review, or add to one of your playlists.
this would take a lot of action script but I think it would be really cool. Also to make it in real time so you wouldn't have to keep refreshing to see new songs.
I dropped out in the third grade, and spent all my time at the arcade.

Wait, wait ,wait. This thread is 10 pages long filled with ideas. Now the thing is Witch ones are going to be implemented in the AP update? Also how long, will it be when the rest of the site updates? If so when we are gonna wait a few months.
Too true:
