My favourite Scottish band is a duo called The Associates.
They used to be part of the new romantic movement, scoring a hit with a cover of a David Bowie song. Evntually, their music became more electronic and dirge like.
They were injured three times in the making of my favourite album by them - 'Frouth Drawer Down'. (They sellotaped cups to their heads and smashed them to sample their screams for 'The Associate', they were hospitalised from ODing on ampheptamine while recording 'Straw Towels' and they almost drownd making the cover art. They had to be photographed in a pool and they jumped in before the plastic cover could be taken off).
The singer is tohught to be the subject of 'William, It Was Really Nothing' by The Smiths and they wrote 'Billy, It Was Really Something'.
What's your favourite band from your country?

Favourite from Sweden? Oh boy.
Since i'm not inte rock music, i can't really pick the Hives or In Flames. I also hate ABBA-ish music, so i can't go for that either. I really don't know any artist from Sweden that does electro-ambient works. Oh, now i've got it!

Not just bands, your country pretty much invented Industrial & New Romantic.
You've also had great Art Rock, Psychedelia, Punk amd Synth Pop scenes.

Argh! Way too many!
I wish I lived in England, so I can name all the badass English Metal Pioneer bands, but I cant.
I guess I'd say either Queensryche, or Stevie Ray Vaughan.

While Britain is a state and nation, but not a country (rather a union of countries), It's OK for people to post British as opposed to specifics.
