Urban Dictionary is the worst website ever. Sure, I guess everyone wants to believe that it's a database of slang terms and internet jargon and a useful resource. But most of it is actually just a bunch of mini-rants written by 13-year-old nerds who like to whine about shit.
It's bad enough that people misspell words in their definitions, or define words incorrectly. It's bad enough that there are dozens of definitions for each word.
Seriously, there are 20 definitions for Newgrounds despite the fact that everyone already knows what Newgrounds is, because 20 different nerds felt like expressing their opinion on the website. There are 281 definitions for Fuck, either because everyone who submits one thinks they can do a better job at defining it than the other guys even though they can't fucking spell, or because the people who submit these definitions don't even bother to check how many hundreds of definitions there already are and don't realize that nobody will ever even read what they fucking wrote.
Like I said, it's bad enough that there are dozens (even hundreds) of definitions for each word, as if anyone actually cares that much. But most of these "definitions" aren't even definitions. Just for your reference, here is the most popular Urban Dictionary definition for Newgrounds: "A kick ass web site with flash animations, games, movies, parodies, celeberty deaths, striper sims, stick figure combat, and more." Too bad this idiot can't spell "celebrity" or "stripper." He also thinks that stick figures are cool, because he's a loser. Nice attempt at advertising your favorite website in a dictionary, though, asshole.
Other people go on to write full reviews of Newgrounds as their "definitions." Take a look at this: "A nice site with plenty of good flash movies on there (Sprite flashes are my favorite) however, there are tons and tons of freaking porn ads on there that takes away a lot of my respect for the site, not to mention they allow a LOT of dirty flash movies to be on there, which is a minus in my book." Wow, we asked for a definition, not what you like or dislike about the website, jerkoff. Go cut yourself. But he doesn't stop there. In the space designed for examples and word-usage, he just continues his meaningless tirade. "One of my main problems with NG, is that there are too MANY biased immature users..." blah blah blah. The funniest part is that, except for the abbreviation "NG," he didn't even use the word "Newgrounds" in the usage example at all. What a fucking idiot.
Here's something else that pissed me off.
Newb: "A term used mostly in FPS that refers to a person using grenades, or explosives to kill."
Haha. Wrong.
And this definition for o rly owl:
"o rly owl is the internet meme/phenomenam that RULZ, it owns!"
What a fucking nerd.
Also, you'd think that people who try to use words like "phenomenon" would make sure they have the spelling correct first.
And the second definition for anime:
"Anime means "animation" in Japanese..."
False. Sure, that isn't all he wrote, but the first sentence was wrong, so I stopped reading.
Here's another funny "anime" definition:
"Porn for kids. Some sick adults like it too."
I find it amusing that the site administrators don't just delete definitions like this. It's pretty obvious that this definition is entirely incorrect. Why keep it? Oh yeah, because Urban Dictionary sucks.
