I know, I like that. Frankly, it's my favourite thing about Opera.
- Opening new URLs with the 'New tab' is way better in Opera.
It's not all that big of a deal to hit Control-T in FFox.
- The download or 'transfer' thing is much better than FireFox.
Eh... I kind of like Firefox's transfers in a popup window sort of deal better.
- You can make notes incase you dont feel like writing something down in a wordpad and save it.
Eh... It takes me half a second to go down to the Quicklaunch on my start menu and select Notepad. Not all that big of a deal.
- Much more user friendly.
Elaboration please.
Whats bad about switching to opera, well there is......oh maybe the......im sure it......wait, nothing.
Well, I do miss my PimpZilla skin, but other than that, I like Opera. If not just because of the startup times.

Fuck man, you DO realize that this is mostly either sarcasm or harmless discussion, right? It's a forum. That's what you do on forums. You discuss, and debate.

I am downloading Opera right now. I usually use IE for Newgrounds stuff (it all comes up faster) and Mozilla for videos off of youtube and stuff. I am guessing that it will replace FF.

That feature is in Firefox v2 - I'm using it right now.

Eh?

Again, what?

Pretty cool, I think there is a plug-in for Firefox that lets you do that.

Yea, I always wonder why people argue about dumbshit like this.... Why should anyone give a shit what anyone else uses? Do you stand to gain from what they use? I highly doubt it....

hm..Haven't heard about Opera till now. I use to run on Netscape, but Firefox became my new default. I'll use anything, as long as it isnt IE. I think the only reason I switched from Netscape to Firefox was because of the' new tab', which the new netscape did have, but i found ubber faulty.
But Opera does sound pretty good, especially after firefox has been crashing on me lately. Maybe i'll go download it and give it a try and see for myself at the very least. Can't knock it till you try it right?

Firefox is a great in Linux, but I find Opera renders the pages faster and scrolls smoother in Windows.

Seems a fuck faster but the only problem is that I prefer the FireFox interface than the Opera interface. Maybe because I'm more used to FireFox...Meh.
This too will pass.

Many of the benefits of Opera listed in this thread are things that I can already do, it just takes an extra step to get going. Like checking my browser history for recent websites, or actually opening Notepad to write down notes. Nothing that'll save me obvious amounts of time.
I like the community that Firefox has built up - I like the fact that if there's something extra I want to do I can find an extension for it, or even build one myself if I have the motivation.
So I have no incentive to change - this is something that exists in every "my browser is better than your browser" thread. If a better browser is only better because it has features someone doesn't want, it's not a better browser for them. It's just a different browser.
Anyway, people should give other browsers a try, just once or twice to see how they like it. You can be surprised by the damnedest things.

Opera sucks. I just tried it out and there's nothing really big.
I hate the tabs on Opera. If you make a new one, it auto-switches you there. Then, if you do the background-tab, that's a whole menu selection down. EASIER? QUICKER? I THINK NOT.
And the only reason pages "load" faster is because the browser displays them even if they're not loaded. Go to your preferences and change the redraw settings. You can make the pages show up instantly, but content might not be there. = DUMB.
Most of the "widgets" are fucking useless.
No bottom status bar.
The "show old pages on startup" bit sucks. What if the last thing you were lookin' at was porn, and you go to show your mum something? BAM. Vagina on the screen. And you're fucked.
The styles suck. Even the downloadable ones would look better on Firefox.
Pretty much safe to say, Firefox rocks Opera.

There's a "Tab" bar always active, with a convenient "New Tab" button right on it. Ctrl-T in Firefox does the exact same thing.

It's a tabbed window, that shows a bar. I personally don't find much difference between Firefox and Opera, they both are good.

Yeah, first time I used Opera I found it to be rather.. bare looking, persay. I still liked it though.

Yeah. I've found that out from personal experience. Try different browsers people, you might just like what you see.

I'm pretty sure there's an option somewhere to turn that off, but I don't know. I've never had that do that to me.

The fact that you can voice activate stuff in Opera makes me like it just that much more.

Yes you can with a microphone you can say such things as "Opera New Tab' and it will create a new tab for you.
