Voice Actress for Hire!

I have what I would consider to be a high-quality headset microphone which I would like to use as a tool to record my voice for the use of voice acting in flash projects, as featured here on Newgrounds. Here is all the information you may need about me:

NG user name: Nekodoshi
Age: 18
Any previous experience as a voice actor: afraid not.
Any clue *how* to record my voice: Will have learned and mastered technique by this weekend.
Voice acting ablities: can imitate a small variety of accents, including English, Scottish, Asian, etc. I can speak some Spanish. Can do various special effects with my voice, including: irritating, goofy, idoitic, soft and clear, pushy, etc. Tell me what you want, and I'll show you what I got.

you should probably join the vocie actors guild in the clubs & crews forum if you wanna do voice acting.

and i'm not tryin' ta be a dick but there's no way in hell you will have the recording technique mastered by this weekend.

eq, compression, and effects all play a huge part in audio and especially in voice recordings no matter how high quality your mic is. i hope you can find somebody that wants you to voice somethin'. :D

i think we all could do with singers to be honest, but hey beggars can't be choosers. Maybe we should actually find some, you know, on the street or where ever you live, work get educated. I mean surely there has to be a singer out there somewhere. But yea if you can sing then i'll use you.

Alot of voice actors are actually singers too. Expecially girls. I suggest going to the Voice Acting Alliance and post something there. It's not called the Singing Club, but still, they hold a special section for Songs. Check it out.

You see, thats the problem. Us musical types expect WAAY too much of our voice actors and are very eaisily dissapointed, even by near perfect performances.

Prehaps its just out of angst that we can't sing ourselves.

haha, actually I was sober when I posted that, and I'm sober tonight. I'm trying to stop drinking on weekdays. It sucks going into work and doing a physically demanding job with a hangover.

Holy cow you guys, thanks for all of the responses and helpful advice! I checked into the voice acting alliance, and man does that place look awfully ritzy. Besides, I don't necessarily want to make it look as if I wanted to go pro or whatever.

Good news folks, Nekodoshi CAN sing! I am an alto in my college's concert choir.

Now, a demo tape? Erm... I don't plan on getting *paid* here, thank you though. I just need something to do with all this free time I've been getting lately in between semesters.
Anyhow, yes I will look into recording some samples of what I'm capable of, and then I'll try and post it here next time.

If you want to do voices for flash, you're better off posting at the Flash forum. But if you'd like to do vocals on songs, I'll keep you in mind. I don't need a demotape - if I don't like it, I'll just have it redone by someone else :)
