When I started posting the big things were the user image pic attention whoring gallery and the 'cool pictures thread' which has been reincarnated at various points.
Then my memories drift onwards towards there being a high chance of you clicking a link to lemonparty or goatse on browsing the BBS, and Jonas distributing hefty bans accordingly.
And characters like Brotha_Noompsie, and later, SilencedIntruder, and then theNGpro starting mildly amusing one-sided flame wars. And being alts.
Then there were sig trends, notably mine, -Stem-'s or Xstem or whatever it is now, and Vibes'.
And then 'quoted for great jusice' and 'the internet is serious business' acted as placefillers for a few months when nothing else happened. There were quite a few high-concentration posters in this period too, like Bumcheekcity, Mr_Fluffykins, and me.
And then stories started, adding 'tldr' to the average newground user's hilarious repetiore of thread replies.
And interest in Bedn seemed to start spiking at about this point too. Perhaps because he was getting up to so much mischief.
And a lot of various NG-specific arguements along the way, Illwillpress being pretty much a constant, especially in that one thread he made, but the Star Syndicate versus Wade Fulp, Ozcar getting demodded just before April Fools and the entire BBS supporting it until they found out it was an April Fools... Slightly_Crazy_Dude getting demodded... lots of good old fashioned E-Drama.
And then the fuckin' owls.
I'm sure I've forgotten loads, because it's so easy to forget loads. And this is very much 'a history from Earfetish's perspective' too.
