Aggressive banner on NG

What do you think about the following?

For some days (maybee a week) there has been a new advertisement on NG which behaves really aggressive. Maybe it is a normal banner, redirecting to sth.

When it appears after clicking on a NG section or a movie/game, a pop-up-dialog appears in front of all windows. This pop-up dialog is designed a way it looks like a windows system dialog of the internet explorer. It tells the user sth about system errors and system stability andt urges the user to install sth from a website. (errorfree.com)

The window with the NG Site is overwritten and you cannot come back until you either install what you are urged to do (I didnt test it) or you have to close your browser completely.

At least that is, how it appears on my system and it is kinda annoying. I have nothing against all normal banners or advertisement. But having to close all instances of IE and coming back to NG after this single banner appeared is too much in my opinion.

Any comments or own experiences?

Hasn't happened to me on NG. Although I did have some nasty spyware that did that to me. Got rid of it though.

Is it Errorsafe? Yeah, it fucking effected my IE so I got Opera. No problems now, and yes it was VERY agressive

ah, NG's most helpful

it's a pop-up from errorsafe.com and it comes up in Firefox just the same. All you have to do is keep clicking the x-es to close the windows/dialogue boxes and it'll go. It's a sequence of about four windows/boxes, if you're quick you can have it closed before it can spawn a new window.

I don't think it's spyware as I'm getting it only on sites that already have pop-ups. I haven't figured out how to block it yet, but if it isn't spyware, I wouldn't mind NG staff looking into it and seeing if they might not want to tell their advertizers to get rid of it.

firefox is very slow at loading pages. IE works the fastest for me and i have no trouble using it ever. then again it all depends on your preference so there is no further need to argue over web browsers.
