I don't think I've ever seen Flash succeed in a live / production enviroment. Why don't you post some credentials or start offering some real money? That'll draw interest.

A little full of yourselves?

Please help out if you can.

You clearly stated HIRING in the title, so just how much are you paying per product/by-the-minute of footage?

Hello, there. I'm Joe Bryant, the creator and head writer of this little project. I was going to make this post myself, but KoolMatrix got one up on me. I thought it would be best if I step in and do a bit of explaining.

You see, we are currently searching for an animator or animators to help us to create a pilot episode of a show that we are calling 'The Annoyance Project.' Some of you may have heard of this project from a previous post on this forum, but I can assure you that since the project fell apart a while ago we've taken on a much more intense sense of proffesionalism. The writers are currently gathering to finish and tweak the final draft of the Pilot Script. Thus, now is the time for us to begin searching for animators.

On the topic of the forum's title, it was a simple misunderstanding. I told KoolMatrix that we would at some point need to 'hire' animators, but I did not state that this would happen later on in the process of creating the series. At this moment we are focusing purely on creating the Pilot Episode. After this is done, and the Pilot is sent to the proper authorities, then we will focus on the actual production of the series.

There are two things that I wish that KoolMatrix had not said, but I am not going to hold them against him. The first thing is using the word 'hire.' As I said before, we are not 'hiring' anyone at the moment. This means that you will not recieve money for your involvement on the Pilot, and nor will we. If you help with the Pilot, then you may be offered to help with the production of the actual series. If you choose to put your talents to work on the series as a member of the production staff, then you will recieve pay for your involvement.

The second thing I wish he had not mentioned was the fact that it would be submitted to Comedy Central and other such places. Yes, it is true that I will be pitching the series to certain places as such, but I really cannot say which companies we'll be focusing on. I have such faith in this show that I will be surprised if it is not wanted by the first company we pitch it to. But, the thing to remember is this: The world of showbusiness is a harsh one. It is cold and unkind, and always changing. It is change that is waranting the creation of this series. Many stations are in need of good, hard comedy and our series offers this and then some. With the comedic genius that our scripts possess (due to the combined minds of the writers) we are just what these stations need.

Alright, perhaps I do sound arrogant, but I want you to know that this is simply me trying to explain the potential that this series posessess. The overwhelming faith I have in this project drives me to post this message and drives me to seek only the best animators that I can find for help bring this amazing series to life. I have never been an arrogant man. I live my life in modesty, so please realize that I am not trying to sound like a man preaching his own brilliance. Had this series turned out any less, I would be the first one to trash it, but fortunately, it turned out to become a marvel.

Now I'd like to speak about Flash in general. What was Flash originally meant to be? An animation tool to be used by proffesionals. Why isn't it taken seriously? Because of the fact that it's openly avaible to any person (despite what age they may be) who may possess the internet and a peer-to-peer networking program. Now, I'm trying to demean the work that the people here on Newgrounds do, so don't misunderstand. I love a lot of the movies that I've seen on NG over the years, and I appreciate each one for what it is. And you must understand that I am not going to rely simply upon flash animation for this project. There will be a lot of editing techniques used, as well as three-dimensional rendering.

So you see, we can very well pull this off and become a professional series, but only if we are able to find people who are willing to put some hard work into this project. If you have any doubts that Flash can be used to create a show worthy of being broadcast on national television, then I respect your fears, but I'd rather you not come here and try to bash the integrity of our concepts.

Also, I'd like to remind those who wish to sign up that this project will not earn you any money right away. Only if you choose to stay with the project for its full production will you recieve payment. And those who believe that this is some fake, or fraud, or farce, then I ask you to read what I've typed again. This project is serious to me. It is, in fact, my life's work, and I will stop at nothing to accomplish it.

Now I ask, who is interested in sharing this idea and helping to create a show worthy of national broadcast? If you are interested, then please contact myself or KoolMatrix as soon as possible to discuss the details. You may be asked to present us with some of your material, as well. Please realize that this is to make sure you have had some experience with flash. No sprite animators please. I love sprite animations, but that is not what we are trying to make.

With all that out of the way, please contemplate what I've said. This project could very well be a hit, but only with your help.

Thank you,
-Joe Bryant
-Creator, Head of Writing, and Director of The Annoyance Project

Hello everyone,
I would like to briefly meditate on everything Joe has said because it is a lot to take in but first I would like to say a few things. Maybe some of you are wondering how I met Joe Bryant and got into this whole thing. Well the answer is that. A while back (maybe a year) I was into this game making program called gamemaker. So me and this other guy I met on a game making forum decided we would create a game called "red devil" or something revolving around a red devil. We badly needed an artist of some kind and so I got this guys AIM from my partner and I started talking with him. This guy was an AMAZING artist I mean he could draw. Well the whole thing kind of died for some reason but I never took the time to take Joe of my friends list. So we would talk to each other once in awhile about anything. We got to know each other better and it was cool. Well Joe brought me into the life of flash and its amazing. I cant animate or do much of anything on flash yet but I hope I will take some lessons sometime. But anyway so one day I get an IM from Joe asking if I would like to take part in a project (called Maestro) and of course I said yes. So the project was off! I started helping Joe write scripts for episodes and help him brainstorm ideas. I also tried to make a few episodes that JOe took parts of and left parts out. SO basically thats where it all started.

Now I think I will just say a few things about Joe's post. Joe is not lying when he thinks we will go far. I think we will go far too. Why? Because we have been spending a lot of time on this project and its not something we are going to let sink easily. We have a chance of a lifetime here and anyone who wants to help does too. But you need to understand that its not some joke if you are accepted into this project we expect you to work not dawdle around because to me and Joe this project is important and if you think its funnny to ruin it then you can just leave. I also think that its important you understand my mistakes. I had a hafl and hour before I had to leave for work so I thought I would just type something up about this quick and check back later well I wasnt thinking when I said 'hire' but I think that was good in one way because now people know whats going to be happening.

Finally I would just like to say its been a very good experience working with Joe, He's a cool funny guy if I may say. He isnt a person that isnt going to work he's someone who will finish the job well. If you cant see how much of an oppertuinity this is for everyone then I suggest you stop reading this. So as The writer and editor I bid you come join us! :)

lol gamemaker... I tried it and liek... NO, just NO :P just kidding, game maker was alot of fun.... ecpessially the particle effects you could use. for BLOOD :) But I don't really see why you needed an artist when making a game using game maker, that's like getting a designer to do the furniture for your sand castle...

I'd love to have you back on the project, Rollie. I'll get MSN right away. And for Giraffe, what are you asking for? An animation? If we had an animation to show you, why would we be asking for animators? As for script, I'd rather not reveal the script for security reasons. We've already had one script taken and used without our permission, and I'd rather history didn't repeat itself.

I'd love to show you some concept art, but it hasn't been created yet. We are just getting to the conceptual process of the project, so we may reveal some art soon, but don't expect anything right away. Those who are interested in the project and are ACTUALLY willing to commit to it will be able to see the final draft of the script when it's complete.

Sorry I can't show you anything at the moment, but I'll try to get something up soon to appease you all and to prove to the nay-sayers that we have the funny. That will come with the animators.

Oh, and P.S. We're also looking for temporary voice actors to work on the pilot. There's a possibility that V.A.'s will be taken on as staff, but it's not 100% certain.

Thanks again, guys,
-Joe Bryant
Creator, Writer, and Editor of The Annoyance Project

(Oh, and as a secondary post-script, it won't be considered 'amazing' until we work with the animators. The concepts and script are only half the magic, the rest is in the graphical work. =P And I'm thinkin' it will be quite 'amazing.')

Oh, lol. Sorry, I misunderstood you. I'll try to look up some pics, but many were deleted when my computer crashed (like the earlier animation tests for The Annoyance Project, which led to our falling out, if you will).

I did a search, and all I could find was a sketch that I'd managed to keep by putting it on MySpace (a fact I'm not proud of.)

I know that doesn't really show much, but it's all I can find at the moment if I can find more, then I'll post them.

Sorry I don't have more.

I don't wanna seem rude, but what is supposed to mean...? I'm confused, as this is a very vague statement that can be taken in a few different ways. One being sarcastic and the other appreciative. Where does your's fall, if I may ask? I'm just curious.

Also, I will be uploading some character concepts soon, so look for those if you're even remotely considering this opportunity.
