I only have my music recorded on a cassette tape, ( i know, way to join the 90s, PoetDiva) does anyone know of an easy way to record music onto a cd. oh wait! this computer doesn't have a microphone! darnit! well, if any of you come to one of my shows, make a recording. That'd be great. I'm screwed. :(
Here's my tip.
Get a tape deck. Put the tape of your music in the tape player. Get a standard guitar cable from any music store (this is a stereo jack to stereo jack cord, but if you can find a headphone to headphone cord, all the more power to you) - then get two stereo to headphone converters. Stick one end into the headphone jack, and another into the 'microphone' port in the back of your computer... (most 'line in' part of the computers only allow mono audio, while the microphone port allows stereo) - I'm assuming you have an audio program that will allow you to record sound coming in from the microphone input. If not, I can recommend some or give you one. The next part is easy: press play on the stereo and record on the computer.
There you go. tape to computer. hell, burn the stuff onto a cd. :)
