I'v had my PS2 for over 4 years now and it has ran just fine for all of that period of time. It's just that one thing has never really worked the way is should. The DVD player will only play certin disks, i don't know why. It will do this light dark thing where it will get nice a crisp and clear and then just drop to a really dark kind of orange. I don't know if this is normal or not, so i'm asking all the PS2 owners on the BBS. Dose this happen to you? I'v found that most movies that were developed in THX won't work. Just a note.

I would assume it was the DDM copy protection on the DVD that is causing that. I've never liked watching movies on my PS2 anyway.

Are you running the video signal through a VCR? some dvd's have a "copy protection" thing that'll keep making the picture fade from light to dark if it is indeed going through a vcr.

No, i'm not going through a VCR. It is connected by all three hook ups (video, augio left and right) into my TV. It's a new TV to flat screen and all. I was kind bumbed when it happened. I just ended up buying a regular DVD player in the end. But thanks for the input.
