I have noticed a dramatically increasing number of threads being locked.

Everything from threads that have been discussed in the past, to threads that mysteriously lock with no explanation.

This is an affront and is considered to be in very poor taste by the Politics Club, and we insist that the lockings stop immediately.

This is not meant to take power from the Mods, nor to insult Freakopotimus. We recognize the amount of work she puts into NG.

The locking of the thread "Should Gays Marry" is a step too far in the wrong direction. Either we must stop the lockings, or find an additional mod more suited to the Politics forums.

Threads that have been previously discussed, and threads that may not belong in the politics forum will filter themselves out. If they are not replied to, they will scroll away and cause no harm. However, they may very well spark debate, which is the basis of the politics board.

We thank Freakopotimus and any other mods for reading this, and for the time they invest in NG, giving us all a more pleasurable experience, and we hope they take this into very serious consideration.

It would be helpful if the mod could just leave a reason for closing the thread before he/she does close it. Then there is no confussion as to why the thread was closed.

The politcal forum has to be moderated differently than the general forum. A topic such as "Gays cant marry" would just be 90% "STFU" and other needless flaming in General, but in here there can be an actual discussion. Whether the discussion is rational or not isnt the point.

My view on this section is just delete any spam. The hateful, insulting stuff is a fine line, but in most cases i think it should stay because most of the people here are mature enough to ignore it and not get your 2 cents in by posting a "clever" stfu pic.
